Look at it this way - competition is good and keeps everybody "honest".

If you want to get rated in CA , you gotta buy advertising - I know for certain in SMOKE manufacturers have the option of pulling their product or resubmitting when they get advance notice of their rating prior to publication.

Maybe Altadis just got tired of jumping thru hoops with CA, or maybe this is just another example of "vertical integration" in their business plan by marrying up with the WAL MART of Cigar distributors Lew Rothman and JR's.

Get the magazine and read it - with a skeptical eye just like any other thing that comes out of any other form of mass media; but if you read between the lines - you are getting 8 cigars for $ 32 from the same manufacturer - which is cost, sans your state import tax. Which ought to tell you exactly how overpriced Montecristos in whatever label they throw on them and Trinidads from La Romana, D.R. really are.

Ok, you all convinced me to jump on the bandwagon... I can't remember if I chose the belicosos or the Robustos... Well, we'll see about the mag. At least with three cigar magazines I'll have more reading material to hold me over until the next issues.
