Not sure if this has been posted before but Im looking to get a nice 20-50ct desktop humi. I want something that is fairly unique kinda like the CAO vison humi. Anyone have something they dont want anymore or know where I can get some thing that fits the discription for a reasonable price. My only big limitation will probably be money since Im a college student.

Thanks for any help Big Grin

Something I forgot, I want it to be a brand specific box if at all possible.

I know what you mean as a college student myself. I went to my local cigar shop and picked up a painted black 50 stick humidor for about 50 bucks (along with the crystal insert and digi hygrometer it came to just under 100 with tax). It isn't the beautiful glazed wood you'll see on the more expensive humidors but its all spanish cedar and it isn't ugly. The painted ones you can find are actually pretty attractive looking if done right and much cheaper than the varnished wood. The one I found was painted black with a dulled silver latch.

Another tip the owner gave me was try to avoid stuff with a glass lid (unless it's something with shelves which keep wood all around your sticks). Brand specific doesn't make a good humidor as I found out but it does hike up the price (i.e. a 20 stick Porsche humi for 800 bucks!)

Good luck with your search.

I have the chelsea model from Tampa Humidor at the moment, it is a glass top with about a 100 stick capacity. What I meant by brand specific was cigar brand, IE Fuente, RyJ, etc.

Nice catch. I'll try to remember this when I decide to get a desktop Humi.

Crap, I went to that website and now I'm about 500$ short of what I was last night. Can't complain though. Thanks Ben! Wink

Don't ignore Ebay, either! Hundreds of humidors are available there!

ive checked all those sites, however what Im really looking for is a box that is humidor quality, such as the DCM Stratford '90 leather box, or the CAO vision box. Not just a humi with a pasted veneer on it. Again this is just a small humi to put on my desk so I have some nice cigar porn to look at when I want.

So what you want is a cigar box that once had cigars in it, that is actually a humidor as well. Just buy a box of CAO vision, or just about anything that Gurkha makes. Though you'll spend some nice cash on those Gurkha chests. I like the great age ones, personally.

How about the Montecristo Afrique humidor? Glass top, solid, good looking!

Sometimes I wonder why they even make 25-count humidors. Cuz you know whoever they're selling those to will out grow them before those humidors even reach equilibrium.

In that case, I'd agree with Ben that one of the brand specific small humis at cigars international is what you want. Howzabout this one?
