What is your pet peeve?

Okay let's get this out of the way:

Guys who post pet peeve discussions in a forum...

One time a local Walmart had set up the electromics dept. in a bottle neck entrance/exit format. It was near the holidays and I was caught in the bottle neck. There were people just standing in the middle talking to each other and blocking the entrance. This is definetly a pet peeve of mine. I got so frustrated and yelled out: "Lets all atand around like a bunch of cows!" (They started to move.) Razz

So what's your pet peeve?

An expensive cigar with a poor burn, bad draw, or a wrapper that cracks and splits. When I buy an expensive cigar and store it properly I expect it to be a great smoke not a waste of time.

I could not agree with you more!

Last night, I took two of the same brand of cigar (both stored correctly in humidor; and both came in the same box) ... one was GREAT and the other had such a difficult draw & lousy taste so I threw it out. One was enough for last night anyway...but I hate the waste of money.

Another pet peeve is people who talk on cell phones while they drive. Specifically, I'm talking about those people who can't seem to do both at the same time.

SUV drivers who haven't yet figured out that four wheel drive won't help you stop on ice, so they tailgate me the whole way home (and look surprised and angry when they slide into a ditch -- I bet they blame the car).

Drivers who would rather nudge into a one carlength space in front of me in order to exit the highway, instead of just pulling in behind me where there are no cars for a half mile.

People with fast cars who drive slow -- what a waste! (Except in snow and ice; see pet peeve #1 above.)

People with junk cars and/or monster trucks who drive 100mph.

People who talk to their kids on the phone all day at work.

People who automatically turn into the 2nd lane rather than 1 lane at a time.

People who only call you when they want something, and never do anything for you in return.

Guys who show off their huge cigar collections, inadvertantly making me order more, which I don't need Razz

1. People who wait in line while the cashier rings up all 100 of thier items, hears the total THEN starts to root around in thier purse for a check book. 90% of the check could be filled out by now!
2. People who "camp out" in the fast lane and go slow.

People who drive with their blinkers on.
Fat women in spandex and/or thongs
Guys in the gym who haven't worked out in 100 years telling those of us who are there daily how and what we should do.
Men who leave the bathroom without washing their hands.

My biggest pet peeve, and I think a lot of you share this one, is jackasses who stay in the fast lane when they arent even going the speed limit or with the speed of traffic, even when you do the courtesy light flash instead of laying on the horn.

I have to commute an hour to and from work evryday and I can't stand this. Especially because here in the lovely State of Connecticut its illegal to pass on the right (which I hate to do, even when I have no choice).

I've driven extensively on the German Autobahn and really appreciate their philosophy of "drive right" or staying to the right unless passing and even then giving way to faster traffic. And thats at speed in excess of 120 MPH ( I averaged 130 in the no limit areas). What a joy!

And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone

JOIN THE NATIONAL MOTORISTS ASSOCIATION (www.motorists.org). I did, it's cheap, and it's our only voice in the legislature. Think the anti-smoking nazis are fun? Wait until the whole country is filled with traffic cameras, in-car breathylizers, GPA tracking devices that monitor your comings and goings (already being tested in Oregon) and other fun stuff.

Which brings me to my biggest pet peeve of all...BEING TREATED LIKE A FIVE YEAR OLD BY MY ELECTED OFFICIALS.

Biggest pet peeve

The anit-smoking nazis who are out to save all of us from our own vices, the people who always complain about smoking when they come into my pub and the people who turn their noses up at me as I'm going for a walk outside with a cigar.

Second pet peeve

Young kids who apply for a job and then demand to have every weekend off in the summer because "it's summer and I deserve a break". What the hell does that mean?

Second hand smoke ads and smoking bans in bars.

Here in Dutchess County, they play ads almost literally telling smokers that they're killing their kids by smoking at home.

As far as I can tell, their statistics about "umpteen-thousand children" per year with 2nd-hand smoke related distorders are pulled out of their collective a$$es.

As for smoking bans... Do they think I go to a bar for my flippin' health? No, I go there to put alcohol in my system and puff on a nice stogie. (Or, at least, I used to...) The two or three bars which used to see me as a regular haven't seen me in years because of the flippin' smoking ban.
