WHAT GOES ON AT THESE EVENTS?

I AM CONSIDERING GOING TO THE CHICAGO BIG SMOKE, HOWEVER I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS.

ONCE YOU'RE IN IS IT FREE DRINK AND FOOD? OR JUST CIGARS?

ARE THERE CELEBRITIES?

I've never been to one but I wouldn't mind hearing of some more personal experiences.

I went to NY a few years ago when it was only 150 a ticket. Great time. Included all you can eat and drink. The food was top notch, provided by local restaurants. Not an open bar per say, instead reps from different companies, but still enough to quench your thirst. I'm a beer drinker, so I remember a few different imports. There were also some liquors, but since I don't partake, I don't recall exactly what they had. I got around 30 cigars, guessing average retail was 3-5 bucks/cigar.

It was a fun experience. Very crowded though,. I would recommend get all your cigars first and then enjoy the rest of the night. All things considered, I would potentially go again, although it’s pricey to me for an evening, considering that several of the cigars were from lines I didn’t care for and that although the food was great, I’m quite content with a burger and a beer.

In heaven there ain't no beer,
that's why I drink it here.

Yeah the Big Smokes are usually really crowded..and do get your smokes first. Then enjoy the food and beverages. Usually after the horde has made it through the smoke lines you can often talk to the makers. It is a lot of fun.

I've been to six Big Smokes and I've enjoyed every one of them. I go to the 'Vegas events which are in my opinion the best. With the seminars and the lunch and sunday breakfast, you get quite a few more sticks than just the 30 or so you get at the evening event. Though doing the entire weekend is pricey, it is well worth it. You also get to rub shoulders with the cigar makers like Faunte, Podron, and others, not to mention the editors of the magazine. It's really a blast.

I have been to two "Big Smoke" events both in Las Vegas and I recommend them highly. I have a good friend that lives in Vegas so I drive up for the weekend. (I live in San Diego)
It takes about a week for me to fully recover...from all the late nights and drinking but you can bet I will be at the next one.

Relaxing and enjoying a great cigar in San Diego
