Has anybody seen that advertisement for the movie "National Treasure" -- with Nicholas Cage? It's the latest big-budget crap-fest by Jerry Suck - er, I mean Bruckheimer.

There's this part in the ad where Nick Cage is looking at a $1 bill with a Sherlock-Holmes magnifying glass and says "I think this dollar bill is trying to tell me something..."

My friends and I bust up laughing every time, but the sad part is that it's supposed to be SO SERIOUS.

"The dollar bill is telling me ... that I'm making a lot of them reciting this lame dialogue ..."

Nick Cage is a repeat offender. My favorite was his "You got snake eyes!" in the movie Snake Eyes. I hate movies that try to work their title into the dialogue.

I always thought:

"It sucked his brains out."

in Starship Troopers is the ultimate. I still laugh hysterically.

Also just about any Arnold movie ever made has some real jewels....

The goal of the “liberals”—as it emerges from the record of the past decades—was to smuggle this country into welfare statism by means of single, concrete, specific measures, enlarging the power of the government a step at a time, never permitting these steps to be summed up into principles, never permitting their direction to be identified or the basic issue to be named. Thus, statism was to come, not by vote or by violence, but by slow rot—by a long process of evasion and epistemological corruption, leading to a fait accompli. (The goal of the “conservative” was only to retard that process.) -----Ayn Rand
