I was told today by my Sergeant Major, I was going to Germany next month for two weeks. My first thoughts were about Cuban Cigars.
My second thoughts were about US Customs.
I have much to plan for.

Last year my mother went to visit Russia, and got me some good quality Cuban Cigars. I got boxes of MC #2, Cohibas and RyJ Churchill. She didn't get search at the custom, but she did take the bands off. But her friend, who went with her, got her bags search inside out. So it's kind of luck. But if you decide to bring some back, just take the bands off. No way can they prove that cigars are Cubans. But again you never know. In any case, I know that you not going for a vacation, but I hope that you'll have a good time. Have a safe trip! ------------------------
Yes I always take off the bands and I will be flying on Air Force flight and we rairly get searched. It is done by special Military Police and they are not as bad. I hope it has not changed since I went last time.

As many will tell, taking off the bands is not a guarantee. Apparently, its up to you to prove they are legit. Having said that, I've never been searched in the dozen or so times I've brought in smokes from overseas. Good luck on your trip.
