Was curious where posters thought these countries stacked up in relations with US. Some are obvious, some less so:
Canada Mexico Brazil United Kingdom France Germany Italy Spain Poland Russia Turkey Egypt Israel Saudi Arabia Iran India Pakistan China South Korea North Korea Japan Australia
The risk of kicking butt is you get some crap on your shoe
Canada -- trading friend, social foe Mexico -- trading friend, but a foe in every other respect Brazil -- slight friend, but upset about fingerprinting rules United Kingdom -- government is friendly, but the people are not France -- economic friend, but social foe and a competitor for world power Germany -- same as France, but slightly more friendly on the diplomatic side Italy -- friend, but socially people are not aligned with the US Spain -- used to be a friend, but now a socialist foe Poland -- friend, emerging market, but again, the people are not sold on us Russia -- sometime friend, but they will ALWAYS be suspicios of us Turkey -- sometime friend, but Muslim faction is anti-US Egypt -- generally a foe, but is sometimes willing to work with us Israel -- close friend -- they understand we are a big part of their defense ability Saudi Arabia -- want us to think they are friend, but really they are foes Iran -- the people of Iran actually want democracy, but the theocracy hates us India -- indifferent: they like the fact that we are investing in their country Pakistan -- government is cooperative, but the people hate us China -- love us for investment, but the government is opposed to us philosophically South Korea -- sometime friend, but wary of the US North Korea -- hate us and want to soak us with phony nuclear deals Japan -- economic friend, but not a social compadre Australia -- government is friend, but the people are ambivalent.

I have compiled my opinions based on what their governments say and what their people have said in surveys. Take those things for what they are worth.
This is what people GENERALLY think about us. I am not trying to say that this is how EVERYONE in each country thinks. Countries are composed of individuals -- I think that goes without saying, but you obviously needed it to be said.
I have been to Mexico 20 times. But I don't think the information I have gathered while there really coincides with what the data says.
And by the way, these are not "stereotypes." They are in no way supposed to be negative depictions of anyone.

And the Bengals are a competitor for the super Bowl.
Sox that's pretty lame. Let's ay Cor when to all of those countries and studied them. It would be useless to you becuase it would now be second hand opinion. That's the beauty of knowledge. Other people can obtain it, and then teach us. Perhaps someday we can build buildings where people can gather to learn. Since the people will be coming and going from those buildings like a bunch of fish, I suggest we call them schools.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
