I would have if Madison didn't go non smoking in everytype of building or restaurant or bar or tavern or sidewalk or air that might be remotely thought about going into a persons lungs. Mad

Sort of.........although it is not an official 'club', I attend a weekly get together of cigar smokers at our local shop on Thursday nights. The regulars, that have been going for years, constitute an unofficial club. We do a lot of social events together.

Very cool clubs. I think private clubs are the way to go as the law changes.

Is your private club on track to open? I hope so.

This is a great webpage...your private club plans can serve as a template for those in other areas who wish to do the same.

I know a bunch of us in the northeast corner of PA have been considering the same thing should the unthinkable happen....

You talkin ta me? http://www.metrocigar.com

Yes, we are ontrack and moving along with the new club. We raised, in hand, 43k in up front money from members.

We have just formed the LLC and will open our bank account in a day or two. We will be signing the lease next week.

Yesterday we took a ride up to CT to a hotel liquidator and bought about 25-30k worth of furniture for 3500.00!! Good stuff. pics at
http://www.priveye.com/cigar

We have an architectural floorplan ready and as soon as we sign the lease we will 'turn to' on getting it built.

Got a line on a Brunswick Gold Crown III pool table for only 2k.

Congratulations to you and the other members of your club. Here in Toronto (anywhere in the province of Ontario and I believe the entire country) are facing similar legislation. I smoke dring the winter at a cigar store with a lounge but effective May 31 that will cease to exist (the lounge that is).

The lounge is 30 minutes from work and 1 hour and 15 minutes from home, so, as much as I like the idea of smoking there I am not likely to be deeply involved in a group organizing a "club" such as yours so far from work and homelife.

I'm going to pass your website on to the guys as a basis for discussion about their options.

Again, congratulations, hope everyone can find a home for their habit like your group.

Smokingsteve, I heard about this as I smoke at an LCDH in Windsor. But I also heard that they may be given an exemption.

Congrats Roscoe! Glad to hear you guys got the project going. As I said, your experience can serve as a template for others throughout the country who are being "driven underground."

If anyone knows of any clubs in New York City, I'd be very interested. I feel like a damn outlaw in this city whenever I want to light one up and having some folks to vent with would be appreciated Smile

Haha being from Windsor I can see that. Some how they are one of the last places in Canada you can still smoke indoors in. I don't think WIndsor will go non smoking until Detroit does.

The best place in San Antonio to belong to is of course C.I.G.A.R.

Leather chairs, 2-42" HDTV plasma, wet bar, complimentary beverages, pool table, darts, backgammon, chess, excellant cigar selction, fresh brewed coffee, private lockers & a new 500 s.f. covered deck outside etc.

Weekly events include poker night, Spurs games, movie night, wine & port tastings, Hawaiian shirt night & catered lunches on Friday.

Whew & thats just a sampling, it is "San Antonio's Cigar Authority"

The difference between men & boys is the price of their toys !!
