Let me pick your brain. What is your pick on the best lighter? Based on reliability, looks, build and so forth.

Ronson Jetlite I hear you can get them for $3.00 at WalMart. I've had mine for 9 months hasn't let me down yet.

I ordered 5 more off their website for $5.95 each. The US site had them for $5.95 with a can of refill.

Trick is; don't use Ronson fuel and make sure you drain it completely before you refill it.

I just got a Xikar Enigma, a dual torch. I love the looks and it has been completely reliable so far. I tried one of the Zippo Blu lighters and was not happy at all. It wouldn't stay lit long enough for me to get a robusto going properly.

I myself have a Colibri lighter with a single torch, great lighter can't complain.

I want to try some of the double and triple torches and wonder how those do.

Most of all are the S.T Dupont lighters really worth the 1,000 price tag they carry?

I use a Colibri Quantum Flask Lighter
Good looks and a warranty.
If that fails matches are always a good back-up

pretty much use matches... at this point I would rather spend the money on some nice sticks... I do like most of the xikar's though.

I've got a Colibri double torch. Works well for me. Plus, in most of the local B&Ms I use to visit they have a bunch of cedar spills in a jar at the counter. Pick up as many as you want. Longer ones normally are enough to toast the foot and light up, the shorter ones it might take two or three.

They're pricey, and acoording to E-cord it's definitely in the minority, but a dual-flame soft flame lighter is really a great way to light your cigar without the danger of... torching it:

For a torch, the Dupont X-tend is nice. For travel, use a cheapie in case a TSA chipmunk doesn't understand what a Tranzpack is.

I have fallen in love with the Zeus Triple flame.

Only $8.99 and one I have is over 2 years old and no issues.

I just purchased a S.T. Dupont X-tend and am very happy with it. If I would add up all my cheap lighters bought over the years that have failed the $ amount would well exceed 3 X-tends @ $135. Don't pay over 135 for an X-tend.
And if you read the previous posts on the cigar talk forum you can read about the Alec Bradley "The Burner" table top lighter. I am very very happy with it.

Dupont XTend. Extremely reliable and never had any problems.

A friend of mine has a "Vysol" lighter off eLighters.com - retail was about $20 and it has had no problems. Comfortable, elegant, reliable and reasonably priced. Single torch, and something I would suggest.

I prefer the single flame for several reasons. It is generally easier to control, burns less hot and uses less butane. I also have seen the doubles and triples in real gaudy, bulky packages- and I generally feel that the singles consistently remain more elegant (if you care about appearance Wink)

This is overkill and not portable, but if you're like me and don't want to puff and puff to light your cigars, this will get it going in seconds without any puffing. And it doesn't char the foot. People laugh but I love it.

Blazer GB2001 Butane micro torch. $26.69 at Amazon.com.

I light my cigars 100% by toasting the foot...no puffing involved.

I really want to pick up the Zippo butane lighter. Has anyone used them or heard anything?

Why are John Deere's green? So they can hide in the fields while the Farmall's do all the work.
