TSF!! You said the H word! I need to take some Pepto-Bismol before I lose my lunch.
Unfortunatly the times I've talked to people who like Hillary the simply say I don't want her to be president just because shes a woman. I would vote for a woman. I love women...just not her
"Think for a moment about whether it is ethical to throw a living creature into boiling water before sucking it down with a cup of melted butter"
I wouldn't mind a woman president if she were qualified and could do a good job. Hilary had 8 years to run the country cause Bill was too busy chasing intern tail. If she gets elected, then I may have to relocate to Canada.
Relative to today... It seems Bill and Hillary did pretty damn well.
Unless, of course, you prefer a pointless and unending war led by a xenophobic bigot trying to rewrite the history that his father created... over a balanced budget, low gas prices and a peaceful world community.
Clinton was an average President nothing more. His timing was good for him. His Presidency regin was during the economic spurt of the 90's. Clinton did have his slip ups. Some could blame Clinton for ignoring huge signs for 9/11. But so does Bush, yes Bush is trying to clean up and save face for what his father left behind. I do believe we should finish what we started overseas and hopefully leave it better than when we started. Tcbrewu have you forgotten the asprin plant that Clinton bombed thinking it was producing bombs?

But I don't.
Still got your bumper-sticker on the car, huh?
Let me guess... it's a Volvo, Honda, or maybe even a Prius.

The Kerry/Edwards stickers read like hobo signage: good food here; kind people here; informed voter here. The "W" bumper sticker? Chances are the vehicle has a gun rack, a step ladder and a sherpa to reach the door, and a design that can best be described as "primer and house paint". And a voter with a lot of remorse.

LOL, I certainly agree with both characterizations.

Really should keep the political crap to another board, the last thing "I" want to think about while browsing for some stogie info is presidential smack talk....
But i think it would be hilarious to see William Jefferson Clinton announced as the first "Man" Of the United States. It has a nice ring to it

You may want to read this thread. Eye found it interesting.
yes Bush is trying to clean up and save face for what his father left behind.
Y'know, a lot of us were angry when Bush 41 didn't march on Baghdad after securing an easy military victory in Kuwait. But clearly, how foresighted and prescient that decision was!

Thank you for the compliment, DC. Not that the Bushies aren't fine guys in their own right--we all have regrets. Look at Jimmy Carter. And Fritz Mondale. And Mike Dukakis. And Hillary, if they're foolish enough to give her the nod.
It is funny, though, how this Bush presidency puts the Bush 41 presidency in perspective. People will still say to me, "but he broke his promise and raised taxes"--as though that's the one irremissible sin in Republican politics. Carved in stone by Grover Norquist.
Oh, for the days when a Bush's broken promises could be counted without removing socks and shoes!

Let's not get too crazy about this stuff. I am not a Bush worshiper. Hell, I voted for Bill the first time! Poor guy (Bush) was put in a pretty tough spot on 9-11-01 and only time will reveal what his legacy will be in presidential history. Frankly, I think he has a lot of balls taking on the terrorists (Islamic extremists) in the middle east. Better there than here in case any of you have forgotten 9-11.
This is how I differentiate Bush vs. Hillary and if you disagree that is perfectly fine.
Bush appears to be somewhat of a dufus at the present, but I believe he is mostly a sincere dufus that has had to make some very tough decisions. Would you take his place? Try being a HOA president where you have to deal with seemingly petty issues then factor that by about a billion to get to the level of importance the issues the man is facing.
I believe Hillary is a great (maybe the greatest) and brilliant politician (that is good if you like politicians, but it makes me nervous). The part I do not like is that it appears to me that she will do ANYTHING for personal gain. It is clear she has been moving to the center (that's where Bill was) for years in prep for this presidential run. I do not believe she has a sincere bone in her body. I think she would change her mind at the drop of a poll.
That is why I prefer "Anyone but Hillary" - which includes other Democrats - as I can hardly stand to watch or listen to her speak as she has no credibility with me. I am sure some of you feel the same way about Bush, but he does not get extra innings..
Selecting a president is an important topic and will be for some time to come. So, let's keep this is if we were all sitting at the same table. No need to get hostile. I enjoy everyone's (well almost) perspective.
