Ageing my smokes is something that I always struggle to find a better way to do. From using Propoline Glycol (sp?) to grouping by wrapper leaf only ect. I always am interested in finding out a better way to enhance the natural flavor of a cigar while ageing it gracefully. I've had smokes that have aged for 3 or 4 years that when I finally make the decision to light up, taste exactly the same. They might have been a Torano and a Esplendido, it didn't matter, the flavors seemed to completely combine. So in an effort to fix this, a friend from my local shop suggested I keep cigars in the plastic bag the tobacconist puts them in, but group them by brand, or country of origin. Now I have my Cubans in bags so their flavors mix and stay similiar and my VSGs or Anejos are in bags of their own as well. I cut the ziploc portion off so to promote easier breathing and make sure to not overstuff the bags, but I am curious if this is something I should continue to do, or stop after only the few weeks I have been doing so. I understand this topic may be the distant cousin to the "Cello On or Off" question that looms almost continually, but the main reason for bringing it up is to find out if part of the ageing process is enhanced by flavors mingleing from one type of cigar to another or if that really has nothing to do with it. General opinions, legitimate ones, are also appreciated. Thanks in advance.
To fend off questions that may come up, I do not have one large humidor, I have several 100 stick Humi's that do not have trays or other seperation methods.
