Every catalog I get from various locations seem to be touting a new line of cigars. Some of the names are variations of well known cigars and tend to be relatively inexpensive. My question for the group is whether the manufacturers should weed out these lines and concentrate on the standards? I would rather they call them seconds than make them sound as if the tobacco and such was designed that way.

People who smoke premium cigars are not in the majority of cigar smokers. The bulk of cigar sales in the USA are cheap drugstore cigars like Backwoods, and other machine mades.

As for threadjacking, it is frowned upon.
