Well, unless Robbie Gould can kick for 35 points tonight...my fantasy season is over. Romo, the patriots receivers, warrick dunn and the carolina defense all combine to this weeks losing team...knocking me out and making me look for my checkbook...

Time to start researching to find next years sleeper in the draft...

How'd everyone else do this week?

In one of my leagues I went in as the last wild card seed and had a 25 point lead and then Brees had the game of his life and knocked me out of the playoffs. In my other league I have a 17 point lead but my opponent has one player (chicago defense) left to play in a few hours. Things aren't looking so good for me. I guess it's time to concentrate on my basketball league or my baseball league and next years fantasy football.

Things didn't turn out good after all. Chicago's defense came through for my opponent so I am knocked out of both fantasy football leagues. Oh well there's always next year!

Tough week for me as well. Here's what happened:

COMPANY LEAGUE
Damn those wine guys. I had no shot at the playoffs anyway, given my poor record, but I lost the last regular season matchup. At least I'm not in last place, but I'm not far away. I'm 9th, out of 10 teams. This one is over. Ouch.

MY LEAGUE
We played the first round of our playoffs in the league I run, Barbarians of the Gridiron. I faced one of my neighbors, who scored more points this week than he has in any other week. Just my luck. I went down 130-111, so at least I made it a fight. LaDanian Tomlinson, Fred Taylor and Holt weren't enough against Favre, Rudi Johnson and (it seemed) every hot player in the NFL. Ouch. I'm out of the playoffs, but still in the hunt for points: I rank third out of 12 teams. And the top dog only scored 75 last week, so he's within striking distance.

SHARK LEAGUE
I had another decent week in my yardage league, scoring 780 points, keeping my hold in third place. The guy in fourth scored 1100 points, however (Drew Brees, somebody stop that guy) so I'm a little worried. I'm 350 points out of first, about 150 out of second. With the scores so high each week I have a shot at glory, and also a shot at falling out of the top spots, so I can't relax. I need a bigger week from Sean Alexander next week, and I'm hoping to get back one of my injured RBs, hopefully Chester Taylor.

Another season of fantasy football is over, and this one ends without a crown. Here's how I fared in my three leagues.

COMPANY LEAGUE
I went in thinking I'd rip apart the wine guys in the company fantasy football league, but I ended up a shattered man. I ended up 9th out of 10 teams, which is terrible. I did draft in the 10th spot, so let's throw that out as excuse No. 1. Excuse No. 2? I didn't focus enough energy on this league. Excuse No. 3? I didn't play well. At least Molesworth didn't win first place.

MY LEAGUE
I had the No. 1 draft pick and I still couldn't win my league. Cripes. With quarterback trouble throughout the year, I slipped from third place in points all the way to fifth (out of 12 teams). In the head-to-head, I also finished fifth. Great. One consolation: fifth place in points gives me a free dinner, and this year we're moving up to a steakhouse. The bad news? Victory (in points) went to my nemesis, Stidolph. Two years in a row. I'm going to have to cut his cable line.

SHARK LEAGUE
The one bit of good news came from the league I thought I had no chance of doing well in. I ended up in third place, which won me a little bit of cash and no small amount of pride. It feels good to beat a few scouts and pro baseball players. Maybe there's hope for me after all.

I hope all of you enjoyed playing in your league as much as I enjoyed playing in mine. Next year, victory shall be mine!

I took it on the chin and ended up 7th...paying not only the entry fee, but losing numerous stupid side bets in the playoffs...even more humbling then losing in the rest of the league...

I guess it's back to being a regular football fan and not a stat-watching-fanatic...

Anyone have any Superbowl projections? I'd love to see the Pats take it...

And..what to do in the off season? Any suggestions?

I finished 4th in one of my leagues and sixth in the other league which means out of the money so I have to wait till next year..I enjoyed the experience but would have liked to have been in a more active league.
