If you could choose between building your own large capacity humi, or building a walk-in humi which would you do?
I am also considering building a wine cellar/room, which I may be able to combine with a humi project.
Some things I have been considering are: The cabinet humi's are really nice to look at and could be moved. The walk-in would be functional, but fixed in location. The cabinet would be in a climate controlled area of my new office, but the walk-in would need its own climate control. The cabinet could be a marketable product, and could make a nice little business some day.
Any other thoughts? What would you guys do given the option, and in consideration of how your cigar useage, collecting, aging, etc has changed with experience?

Cabinet. I am not going to be living in the house I am currently in forever. When I build my dreamhouse and know I will be in it for decades and decades, then I will go with the walk-in.

I am a beginner in wine making. What I do know is that wine should be stored in a cool dry atmosphere away from direct sunlight. Cigars need to be out of direct sunlight and kept in a humidor at 70 percent humidity while not exposing them to high temps. If you can keep it cooler and seal the walk-in well enough to keep the humidity in then I vote for the walk-in. Consider adding a vent fan to not only disperse the excess smoke outside but to also remove unwanted heat or dampness.

I read in CI most recent issue on wine collecting that they recommend a humid climate for wine to keep the corks moist and prevent too much loss via evaporation.
I am leaning toward the W-I project, and I will also post the photos as I go. The office is proposed construction, so I will be starting from scratch. Should be fun to build.

I'm gonna have to disagree with Cori on this one. If I owned the house I am living in (and if I had the space) I would build a walk-in regardless if I planned on staying there or not. Half of the fun is building it and making it unique for that particular house. I find little projects like that very rewarding once they are all done. If I moved, I could do it all over again and make it bigger and better then before. Another vote for a walk-in.
