so, i currently have the following humidor:
Pavia from Tampa Humidor

i'm at full stock with mine now & someone wants to buy it from me minus the cigars Big Grin (which i'm not complaining), but i need to find a replacement. so, i've found this one: Salerno which looks like a tampa exclusive (hence the text on they're site). it holds 300 sticks and looks pretty nice. i'm wondering if anyone has this one? could get a unopened box in the middle compartment?

also, to make my decision a little more tough... i've been looking at some small cabinet styles. i don't want one that holds a ton, just a 200ish box. i'd like it to have a place to store 1 or 2 boxes and some loose cigars. here's an ebay link to something similar: ebay cabinet. this one looks nice as well, but i can't seem to find one like it on any of the .com shops.

so for the help part of this... i'd like to have one w/ an external hygrometer or at least glass panels where i can read my digital. also, i'd like it to hold between 100 - 250 cigars and maybe a sealed box or two. any ideas?

I like that tiny e-bay one and that's the problem. If you think you will be satisfied with a small cabinet go for it.

I found that I could not get by with something like that because once I bought one box I needed to buy another and then another.

After I had filled 2 large coolers and three desktops I decided that I needed to either get a cabinet or build a walk-in.

I opted for an Aristocrat Plus (www.Aristocrathumidors.com) and THAT is full to capacity.

Good luck with whatever you chose.

Calculate the number of cigars you smoke in a year. Multiply that number by 3 and add 200.
That the size cabinet that will do you for a start.

I'm only half joking.

Doc, you are so right. Once you start buying boxes it becomes an obsession. you can never have too many boxes. Always buy what you can afford.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

My Humi Progress (keep in mind, I always said I'd never fill one):

No Humi
25 Ct Humi -- lasted 1 month, afterwhich I had 50 cigars
120 ct Humi -- Lasted 2 months, had 150 cigars
1200 ct Cabinet -- got it in November. Single drawer holds 300. That's full. Bottom holds 28-32 boxes. That's half full and some of those are singles that I had to put in boxes because the top drawer is full.

Moral of the story: Get 2-3 times the size you THINK you'll need.
