My friend has one of these and it always seems to run out really really fast in the cold. Anyone else have the same problems

Another great tabletop lighter is the Roburn MT-770, http://www.widgetsupply.com/page/WS/PROD/gift-ideas/SDB2-MT770,
Costs half as much too!

The AB tabletop from CI is just a repackaged Roburn micro burner, you can get these from any lab supply company, Daigger Lab Suuply
or Arbor Scientific

Do a google search for micro burners and you'll find all kinds.

Meanwhile back on topic....

I have two friends that ran out and purchased the Blus soon as they hit the shelves. Both ran into the same issues, 1) butane ran out very fast 2) no matter how far you turned up the flame adjuster the flame got shorter as the butane level ran out, 3) the flint wore out very fast, 4) very rarely lit on the first try (3 & 4 are probably related).

For these reasons they no longer are using the Blus and have switched back to there ST Duponts.

I got the same problem with my torch lighter. I bought this very expensive Porche Design Lighter... what a pice of junk. 2 cigars and it is empty.

Thank you smartman you got me just what I needed to not buy one of those lighters. I would by an ST Dupont, but they are quite pricey. I am going to look into a table top lighter first i think.

As for Jaxen I was just looking at those porche lighters and now I will definately not be getting one of those.

go to Target, Crate & Barrel, Wal-Mart, etc and get a Creme' Brule torch. the're great for home use. they're only about $20, reliable and hold a lot of butane. I love mine!

I have a Zippo butane torch insert for when I'm away from home, that too is cheap and reliable.

I also just checked out some micro torch's and they are pretty sweet. I might just be getting one of those from ebay. The thing is I want something I can take with me when I leave my house to smoke with others. Can someone give me some good small butane lighters. Thanks

The zippo Blu is the biggest piece of crap I ever spent money on. I'm lucky if I can this hunk of junk to light 1 out of 10 times.

As for the fuel you need a tanker truck in your back pocet to keep the thing full of fuel.

WASTE OF MONEY DON'T DO IT.

Here's a link to some nice pocket torches. All three come highly recommended. Both Roburn and Blazer are manufacturers, so check for online vendors for the best price.

Roburn Pocket Torches

Roburn Pocket Torch w/ built in cutter

Blazer Pocket Torches

There is no flame adjuster in a Zippo Blu.
