Drives me crazy how apple comes out with something painfully cool 2 months after I buy the old model! Guess I'm going to have to sell the mini on ebay and keep up on things, that little b@stard looks just awesome.

The smaller things get the easier they are to lose. I'll keep my Ipod photo. I love that little thing. I was going to get a new stereo in my car to play MP3s but I decide to just carry my IPod and use one of those FM tuner things.
I tried the ipod nano but I think it was plugged. I kept lighting it and all I got were hints of burning plastic. I prefer the original ipods. Much smoother and fuller tasting, possibly due to the larger ring gauge.

Does the FM tuner work very well? I want one...BTW, the Nano is something like 60% smaller than the mini. It's really tiny...
iPods are just like humidors -- buy more space than you think you need. I got a 4G iPod Mini for Christmas. I liked it, but it did not hold all my music. I recently upgraded to the 20 GB iPod, which I was very happy to find new for $229.
I hope the Nano holds up for you. Despite some quality problems I have had, iPods are pretty decent.

Yeah, I know it won't hold all my music, but then again, the 20G probably wouldn't either. I just wanted something for snowboarding, working out, etc...The Nano doesn't use a hard drive, so it doesn't skip like the ipod. I'm still amazed at how small this thing is, it's hard to comprehend. If you haven't seen one in person, you really should check one out.
Apple is announcing some new products on Wednesday, October 12th. One of these is "alleged" to add some sort of video to some iPod models. Wall Street analysts are expecting something big, yet they aren't saying (or are just guessing).

I purchased a nano the week it came out (sold my mini for 200, so the nano cost me 50 dollars). So far its been great. Sound quality is the same as other Ipods, so with a pair of decent headphones the audio does not dissapoint. Fully loaded my 4 giger can hold 45-55 hours of music, more than I'll be able to listen to before I return to a computer. The scroll pad works 100% better on the nano than on the mini. On the mini I would run into issues where the pad wouldn't pick up my thumb, the mini never has this problem (I think it's because this pad is built by Apple). The color screen is clear as a bell and is able to display pictures with a good level of detail. Overall the fit and finish is well done, elegant, and feels good in the hand. Apparently there were some problems with a small production batch of the screens where they would break eaisly. Apple is replacing those for free and all of those should be off the shelf by now.
All in all, I don't have any complaints about the nano, probably one of the few products I can say this about. The software is, of course, terrible and stops just short of functional. http://www.ephpod.com/ is a much better progam. Works in a similar fashion to iTunes but does things like interfaces with m3u playlist files, allows for batch deleting, manual editing of the iPod database, and lets you download songs from your iPod to the computer.
