Current betting favorites (but don't bet the rent money):
Chief of Staff: Rahm Emmanuel NSA: James Steinberg (who?) Secretary of State: Sen. John Kerry or Sen. Chuck Hagel Treasury Secretary: Larry Summers or Paul Volcker Secretary of Defense: Gates is staying, or Richard Danzig.

I think he owes Bill Richardson the SoS. Plus, I think we would be a lot better than Kerry.
I like Bill Richardson, too, but Kerry's foreign policy exerience is much deeper, no? Plus, he seems to really want the job.

Ya think? Ambassador to the UN isn't a bad job to have on your resume.
I think a lot of people want and think they deserve a cabinet position. That is why I think Gates will be gone. Obama is going to clean house regardless of how effective Gates has been.

Some close to Kerry here in Massachusetts are intimating he'd like to end his political career as Secretary of State, then retire while he's still relatively young.
(And he speaks fluent French!)

Maybe. But I think Obama recognizes and values talent more than he wants to sweep out the old. I'd love to see Gates stay on in Obama's presidency.
