I agree, the Dolphins had a bit of luck to get that perfect season.
But, I also think the Patriots should have lost against Baltimore. That took some extreme ref intervention and a super heap of luck to pull out that win.
Also, the Patriots were fairly flat the entire 2nd half of the season. They squeeked out some lucky wins against some really mediocre teams. Even at 1 loss, I wouldn't call them as dominating as some teams in the past with lesser records.

I do, too. And they clearly did peak way too early. They just eviscerated all their opponents before their bye week.

I love that our elected Senators are focusing on the real issues here in America, professional sports. I can see steroids in baseball, that doesn't bother me, but this is just ridiculous. The least they could do next time they campaign for the senate again is to include in their issue platform that they want to seriously investigate professional sports for a large amount of time, and not get everyone's hopes up when they say they want to help the country.
There is a really good video online that has to do with a timing conspiracy in the Super Bowl, I'm not going to elaborate here or say whether I believe it or not, but it's a pretty interesting watch. If you can't find it let me know and I will pull up the link.

To paraphrase Sports Illustrated's Dave Zirin, something stinks in the world of Spygate that's not the New England Patriots.
Background. The country's largest cable provider, Comcast, as you know, is in a huge, nasty dispute with the NFL over, among other things, the premium-tier positioning of the NFL Network, and Comcast now wants desperately to drag the league and its commissioner through the dirt. And, as it happens, Comcast has been a major, major campaign contributor to Arlen Specter's reelection campaign.
But Comcast is only the senator's number two campaign contributor. Who gave even more money to Specter than Comcast? Well, that would be the Philadelphia law firm of Blank Rome LLC, a powerhouse lobbyist that counts Comcast as their biggest, highest-profile legal and lobbying client. Together, Comcast and Blank Rome have enriched Sen. Specter's campaign coffers by a half-million or so dollars. So, the good senator from Comcast -- I mean, Pennsylvania -- though he has not a single ally in Congress in this matter, at least as I write this, seems to be doing his damndest to do the bidding of those to whom he's so beholden.
What's abundantly clear (to us here in Patriots Nation, anyway) is that Sen. Specter is repaying his big political debt to Comcast and their Congressional lobbying firm, both of whom whom so generously and civic-mindedly enriched his campaign.
As the Philadelphia Inquirer editorialized, if there's any Senate hearing involving the NFL and Arlen Specter, it ought to be the Senate Ethics Committee, looking at a potential link to Comcast/Blank Rome and Specter's unseemly interest in Spygate and the NFL's private business. Eagles fan or not.

There was no conspiracy. The refs mess up the clock every game.
