It is getting cold here in NY and I do not want to be standing on my deck freezing but still want to enjoy my sticks. I have read about these candles that you light and they eliminate the smell of smoke indoors.
Has anyone ever used these or know anything about them?
Thanks.

I use one in the garage when it gets too cold to smoke out by the pool (only about a month or so out of the year down here)...
If I forget to light it while enjoying a 'gar out there, my wife comes out and "reminds" me.....the intake for the furnace is in the garage. If I light the candle, she never comes out to chew me a new one..... Must work.....

Excuse the mild thread jack here but; Here's a good example of a question that has probably been asked before. But there are a lot of us new folk that haven't ever discussed it so it is interesting to me. We could all do a search on it or we could just discuss it, which for some might be the 100th time, but for us is the first. I say, lets discuss it. I was wondering about the candles too.
See now I would argue the other side of the coin. I too was recently interested in the candle thing. But rather than bother the people who have discussed it before, the people who actually know the answer, I just searched for it. The difference between me and you is, I now know the answer while you are still discussing it fruitlessly and generally arguing about whether its better to play good cop or bad cop.
Yes I am sure you are quicker than most DMW but one must remember to use the "find" function within the forums rather than the "Search" function at the top of the screen which is worthless IMHO.

Thanks Mr. Speece for the ever so useful tutorial on how to find the find button. I'm not trying to belittle anyone here I'm just saying there is no trick to it. If I was able to do it in literally 5 seconds and I am NO smarter than you, why can't you do it? Therefore I am either smarter than you or just more willing to do what is required to get answers for myself rather than relying on others for immediate gratification.
You probably are smarter than me, but I when I first came here as a lurker, there were many suggestions to use the "search function." I foolishly thought that the data field marked "search" located rather prominently at the top would do it. I was just giving another person the benefit of the doubt that perhaps they had gone the same road as well. Like you I prefer to find things out on my own before asking for assistance. I'm glad that you didn't waste time like I did.
A few years ago I invested in a Csonka air purifier - not sure of the model, but it's the one that looks like a wood-grained Darth Vader helmet. This thing works great. I just vent out most of the smoke, leave it turned on overnight, and the smell is be gone the next morning. You can buy a lot of candles for the price of this thing, but I think it works better than masking the smell with candles.

ventilation, air cleaners, fabreeze are all recommended.
if you have drapery, rugs and cloth furniture they are going to hold the smoke odor. how you furnish the room that you'll be smoking in is important consideration if you're trying to avoid a lingering smell of cigar smoke.
I went to he link referred to here, this isn't exactly what I was talking about. The comments made in that link refer to candles in general I was speaking of candles that were made specifically for the removal of smoke.
Nonetheless, I just found them online and picked up two [for my basement]. They were $12 for two, how bad can they be for $12?
Anyway, they should be here soon. I'll give 'em a test run and report back. I'll also try that white vinegar thing tonight - sounds interesting.

Really? Bluesky posted this on the thread I linked. Isn't this what you are referring to EXACTLY?

I think you are mistaken. But to read it further you will see that the candles remove the smoke smell from the air but only filtering or removing the smoke will ensure that it doesn't stay in the furniture.
I stand corrected, you are right. Initially I didn't realize they were bought through smoke shops, I thoughtthey were regular candles that you could purchase through a mall or catalog. My apologies
Hey, but now I have another supplier, thanks.

If you know the answer, why not share it? Sounds like a good idea to me.
We've tested several smoke eating candles in our very smoky offices. In my opinion, they do very little to eliminate the smell of smoke. Better to get a good air cleaner.

After reading a few of your posts, it seems like you've come here (again, most likely) to bother our other posters. Not a good thing. I've removed you as a member.
