Have you ever been enjoying a cigar in some public place and some dick asked you to move?

This has happend to be twice, both by females. One time I was in Byrant Park having stick. Anybody familiar with the area, would know that Byrant Park has resturant directly behind the library. The only reason I moved was because I was it as at night and there were other places for me to sit.

The second time I was on a bench in front of Net Cafe. This is how the conversation ensued.

Abnoxious Anti-Smoking Chick: Excuse me. Can you move? Your runining my time here.

Rex: I'm sorry that your downwind.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next time some meathead broad (or guy) asks me to move. I'll politely inform them that I'm in the smoking section and Mayor Bloomberg has provided them with ample indoor smoke free enviroments.

If I'm paying $20 for a cigar, it better be "contraband."

Bryant Park is a no-smoking park, so being asked to move was not the wrong thing to do.

If you the first one at the bench in front of the Net Cafe and the lady sat down and asked you to move you should have stood your ground and told her to move.

Snappy comebacks by New Yorkers just don't cut it any more. Too many crazies with guns.

I've never been asked to move or otherwise been disturbed while I was smoking. I do stay as far away as possible from everyone while I smoke.

And as of the last few days, crazies with knives.

Hard finding a place to smoke in peace in the city. Even on a private terrace, prigs will go complaining to the co-op board. That always amazed me. The city smells of hot urine and garbage, and they complain about a faint whiff of Cohiba in the air.

I was walking home down Lexington Ave. a few years ago, holding an unlit cigar. (I couldn't find my lighter.) This woman behind me starts coughing obnoxiously. As we both waited to cross at 34th, she says, "you're stinking up the air we all have to breathe." I just lifted the cigar and said, "lady, it's not even lit." She turned red and crossed to the other side of Lex. The punchline: I saw her the next week in my building; she lives there. We shared a very uncomfortably silent ride in the elevator.

Rudy, how we miss thee.

A few yrs ago I was in a cigar smoking patio lounge. A couple sat next to our table ( a few friends and I). She immediately began stating outloud that it "Smells!". I of course ignored it. She then asked if I could sit at another table. I told her that this is an open cigar patio and that if my smoke bugged her she could move." Her response was "Well!"
