I just burned down an Anejo 50 mad, I think it was. One word for this cigar...SMOOTH.

You can blow the entire cigar out you nose with no burn or spice. It is not complex, but with balance this perfect from start to finish who needs complexity.

Anyone else REALLY blow away by these.

I bought three Arturo Fuente Añejo Reserva No. 46 last week and I must say, fantastic smoke. Incredibly smooth with just enough flavor to keep things interesting. I also have to comment on the draw, the stick I had burned and pulled like a dream. I (thankfully) still have two sitting in my humidor for later.

There is a thin line between genius and insanity measured only by success.

My first one was a firm+ draw, but this one I'm burning this morning is just right. All have burned with perfection.

At this point in time, I'd rather smoke these than Opus.

I enjoy these greatly as a change of pace from CCs.

Bama, the firm draw could be from humidity; as noted by many, Anejo can tend to be wet when shipped.

I do find these to have a smoothness when young that is not present in a young Opus; I attribute it to the unique wrapper. With a bit of rest (6 months to a year), both cigars become more refined.

I totally agree, however its nice to break open a box of anejos and enjoy. You just can't do that with so many cigars these days. One of the best cigars I've ever smoked was a Opus Belicoso XXX with a couple years on it. That cigar was loaded with flavor and such a long finish. Very special indeed.

Which reminds me, I haven't been called today, so I wonder if the opus shipment came in as anticipated.

They are wonderful cigars no doubt.
