Finally Friday, not that it matters to me as I still have to work tomorrow.

This evening I have an Opus X Robusto and a Bowmore Mariner Scotch.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

With the great weather and a light day of work I took advantage and had a Bolivar Confradia Cuban Corona. And Later A RP Vintage 1992 Toro.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

A Punch Gran Puro Rancho. Excellent smoke, despite the cold I endured out in the garage.

After dinner this evening, went to the local shop and had a LFD 2000 Series #5... I can honestly say that I have not had a bad LFD anything!

Picked up an El Rey Del Mondo toro for tomorrow, or maybe Sunday...

Started today with a Nestor Palencia Maduro Honduran cigar that gave me burn problems again tonight. This was the second in a 5 pack. So I started another Nestor Palencia and it also gave me more burn problems. Third try tonight was an LFD Maduro that was a nice cigar. I might have one more tonight not sure. Certainly getting rid of the rest of my Nestor Palencia Honduran Maduros as these have good flavor but they don't seem to be filled well and have given me tons of burn problems.

I went to fix a sign at a cigar shoppe. So of couse I checked out the smokes.

Purchased a M&R Pre Embargo Cuban. Box pressed, maduro, tight draw, almost no flavor, and a hint of rancid ammonia for the bouquet.

Sh--!

A 3-cigar day that started out great and went downhill from there: I started out this morning with a Punch Rare Corojo (2005) Rothschild---always great; then I tried an Alec Bradley Trilogy Authentic Corojo Robusto---it was OK but nothing special; tonight I lit up a cigar I picked up from a local B&M, a cigar that I've been anxiously awaiting for many months---the CAO Vision.

The humidor/box that it comes in was even nicer in person than it seemed in all the pictures I'd seen; it really is very cool. I bought a single for $13.95. Since it is shipped in a controlled humidity box, I thought it'd be OK to smoke the same day rather than letting it settle for a couple of weeks in the coolidor.

The draw was tight, so after a little while I had to try channeling through. At first that seemed to work, then the draw tightened up again, so I had to channel through again.

The burn was uneven; after touching up, it still kept on burning faster on one side. The flavor was very subtle and faint.

I wanted to like this cigar---badly. I wanted an excuse to one day buy a whole box. The fact is, this cigar is just so over-priced because of the cost of the box. The Alec Bradley was a better cigar than the Vision, and it was nothing special, so that says a lot. The CAO Italia and Criollo are both way better than the Vision, IMO.
