I'm twenty-two years old and always enjoyed cigars but I would like to gather more information on what to look for when buying cigars. Any advice on what to read?

If you're willing to put aside all the political crap threads on here, you can actually find some useful information purtaining to cigars. It's just a matter of looking.

Things to look for when in search of a good cigar:
-Price range
-Proper temperature and humidity
-Knowledgable tabacconist
-Sample a variety of cigars

Hey cubbie-

If you want to know all about cigars, visit the Non-Cuban Cigars forum. There are several threads you can find via the search function regarding different types of cigars and what the BOTL's here recommend. Here is a great starting place:

http://forums.cigaraficionado.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/94...?r=53660816#53660816

Otherwise, be very careful. The "Cigar Talk" forum is intended to be about anything and everything you would talk about if you were sitting at your own local lounge.

Hang on and have fun! And, remember the #1 rule- Smoke what you like!

Just stick around and follow the posts in the non-cuban and cuban forums. You'll get a good idea of what is smoking well right now. Maybe get in a a PIF in the trading room and try some new stuff.

Find the Cigar 101 link on the home page. Don't overspend. There are plenty of good cigars in the $4-$8 range.

Welcome.

I would start here to read the history of the CA magazine. In fact all CA forum members should read this article to get an appreciation of what Marvin has accomplished.

And then browse the rest of the CA magazine articles here.
