Any suggestions on how to keep the humidity level at 70%. I've put a small amount of water in. What works for you ? Where can I get distilled water as well?

I use these:

In the USA you can get distilled water at any grocery store.

If the grocery store is out try the drug store.

First, have a decent humidor purchased from a tobacconist that knows their product. Second, place in a quiet spot in the home or office out of the sunlight, typical rooms are kept just over 70 degrees, so taking away the sun will reduce conduction of the heat. To this day I have no idea the brand name of my humidor, however purchased from a long standing cigar shop, has worked well for 10 years now, only replaced the Credo unit one time after using regular tap water for some time while in college. Be sure to calibrate your hydrometer and note how far off it is. Just do a search here or on the Internet Cigar Group for that test. Tweaking a humidor to me is half the fun.
