That was a fun game. I actually had 100 level tickets, but I sold them because I get an offer that was wayyy too good to justify a college student not selling them. Face was $90 and my friends dad offered $1000 for the pair. Couldn't turn it down.

People were scalping those tickets left and right and the management was stupid with their selling practices. They let people buy as many as they want, so people bought dozens to sell on E-bay. I looked on E-bay and one seller had like 100 tickets for sale.

They thought they weren't going to sell 70,000 tickets, so that's why there wasn't a limit, but that was stupid. For one, it's Buffalo and that's all there to do in the winter. Second, we're close to Canada and everybody knows how Canadians are about hockey. Third, it's not horribly far from Pitt. A lot of people got screwed and couldn't get tickets. i bought two because I planned on going, but I would have been stupid to not sell them and make $800 for doing nothing.

The ghost of Jaques Plante entering the body of Carey Price happened to the B's. Wink
Actualy Boston played very well the first two periods. Price was just insane.
Zdeno Chara's injury was more noticable last night as he was beaten twice where he couldn't turn as quick and it turned into goals.
The Bruins played an incredible series. There is just something about the Habs in game seven at home.

Hey Sal and FM,

What's up with the Montreal police running from their cars and not defending their vehicles or the shops in Montreal from the hoodlums?

Yuk, yuk... Smile

I guess that if you're 2 cops in a patrol car and you see a crowd of 75 unarmed but frenzied people heading towards you with bad intentions, you better run... I mean you can't really shoot them.

This said, the police will change their strategy for next time. Not only will they have the riot-police (impressive but not very mobile), but also several smaller mobile intervention units and lotsa cops in plainclothes. Sounds logical.

As for the reasons for these hooligan attitudes, I don't know, it baffles me... But all those arrested where between 14-23. A bunch of attarded delinquant adolescents.

So a crowd of rowdy kids can scare the cops off.

I hope word does not get out that the crowds really run Montreal.

I would think that if a cop feels threatened they typically do 3 things:
1) Draw their weapons to show they mean business
3) Fire a warning shot in the air to convince the crowd to back down and disperse
2) Shoot a few people in the legs if the crowd proceeds to threaten the police, destroy a police car, or public property

That's right. We learned a hard lesson in Boston a few years ago, I think it was after a Superbowl win. Anyway, the downtown area was crowded with rowdy fans and the police were firing rubber bullets and hit and killed a young woman.

Don't forget Steve, a warning shot fired in the air is probably not a good idea in a downtown area - even if it is shot straight up to avoid buildings, that round is going to come back down and could just as easily kill someone.

They probably would've gotten lynched had they done that. If not by the crowd, certainly by the politicians and media.
