I will agree that Binder is probably not a BOTL. He now grows his own cigars so, we may have to consider that a Papa of the Leaf. Keep an open mind with Binder... he grows on you like fuzzy stuff grows on cigars. Then it's up to you to decide wether the stuff is mold or plume. --------------------------------------------------------- "There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar." -- Prince Sined Yar Maharg

Thanks En4cer71...I think... POTL? Makes me sound old Stogie. I'll stick with Cigar God! I'm still waiting for my hateful post..."Noobs Read This" is humor and I don't attack anyone individually. I'm addressing a small but annoying group of people. I use humor to point out things that tick a lot of us off. Overall I have received far more compliments on that post than complaints. Awww what's a matter Rick, did you get bashed once? You'd think a smart seal would run from a man carrying a club. In fact that might be my new motto..."Speak loudly and carry a big stick." My apologies to Teddy. One helluva war, here. What is it--the "Noobs" versus the "Vets."
In other words: [Those who are excited to learn, found this website, located the link on the left navigation menu that said "Forum" and just started clogging threads with questions that have been redundantly answered] versus [Those who have no patience for people who are unresourceful].
If you found the link to "Forum," then you can find the link to Cigar 101--mind you it's animated and quite distinguishable--below the navigation menu that contains information for beginners, from seasoning a humidor to removing cellophane.
All rookies get "mistreated" in Major League Baseball, at any workplace, and just about anything else in which experience is the most valuable asset--why would a lifestyle like cigar smoking be different?
I've been around these forums for a week. Anyone who find's BinDerSmokDat's comments offensive is taking this discussion group way too seriously. How are any comments made by the more seasoned members hateful? I haven't seen insults, profanity, racial or sexual bias, or anything hateful--that wasn't tongue-in-cheek--posted by any of the long-time members.
For the love of God, these "Be nice to noobs" and "Lost etiquette of cigar smoking" and any post of the like are insanely redundant--and they seem to be on top of every page.
What's my take? Let it fizzle, and avoid dignifying these claims with responses. BinDer, you've said more than enough, they've showed no evidence that you're hateful, so I'd just leave it alone.
It's a case of whiners. First the issue was whether to take cello off, then it was "be nice to noobs," and now it's whether or not shorthair really has a cigar shop.
Sounds like a few of us are fishing for argument.

"Mad "Which cutter do you prefer? I have snipped all 3 of the cigars I have ever smoked with a V cutter and IMHO it produces the best smoke." Mad
Hmmmmh I think you should try a guillotine. Not the cutter but the 18th century method of execution. There you go just stick your head in...pull this...Voila!"
-From your "Noobs read this" post
I wouldn't consider that a very loving comment, but at the same time it isn't directed at anyone specific.

Shorthair - I just gained a whole new respect for ya. Nice post.
Jerry - how ya been? How is the wine coming? My current batch of blackberry is actually going to be decent I think.
Hard work may pay off eventually but laziness always pays off now.

No I'm not an Internet Tough Guy and yes I am trying to make a point in all this. Every time someone pokes fun at someone "Noob" there is a certain group of people who feel that they have to give some long winded explaiation about how mean someone else is. Read your own posts. You are attacking the person who is trying to interject some fun and obvious humor into this forum. The "jokesters" are just ribbing people in good fun. They are never hateful or intentionally humiliating to anyone. I caught and still catch a bunch of flak from these guys. I laugh my A$$ off at most of what they say. Usually turns out that they are correct and they all ways give me the answer to what I am looking for. You on the otherhand are far more forcefull and offensive to them then they were to the other person. Who cried out your name for protection or asked for your assistance. To the best of my knowledge most everyone here is over 18 and male. Can't they fight their own battles? Do they need "Super Noob" protector to swop in and save the day. You are the ones who need to mind your own business. I've been jumped on all over this board. I laugh at all of it. I just think you need a sence of humor and need to cool off. Jeeze, you want me to come to your shop for a fight and the other guy say's I "HATE" you several times toward another member! You guy's sound like you want to use real clubs on people! I have never acted that way toward anyone on this board. Nor, would I ever. I have nothing against anyone in this forum. If my writting sounds angry, I assure you it is not. Just look at they way you act and attack people without provocation and maybe reconsider your own attitude and comments toward other people. You also are NOT the self appointed God's of the CA Forum. ??What thread of mine are you saying was pulled. I did not know I had a thread anywhere to be pulled. Shorthair: Nice post and you certainly got me on that one about the shop. Score one or two for Shorthair. I'll let you cool off awhile before I come in for coffee. You don't keep any rat poison around do you??? But, I still say that you are the one who need to lighten up. You are acting like the Internet Tough Guy. I'm just trying to make a point and have some fun. In 1917 Lewis Burwell Puller, then a young Cadet, left the Virginia Military Institute at the end of his freshman year to enlist in the US Marines, saying simply, "I want to go where the guns are!"
