There are better resources for debunking internet myths.
Perhaps you're right about that, but I think snopes did make the point that the phony "Letter from a Florida Teacher" was "misleading and inaccurate", not out-and-out false. But in my opinion, deliberately leading someone to a false conclusion -- as the so-called letter does -- is tantamount to lying.
That aside, my point really was that the original poster used the snopes site to desseminate that anti-immigrant letter they were debunking, without realizing the nature of the website he linked us to.

Ummm ... Sheep (and Prof. Punch), snopes.com is a website that addresses and debunks internet rumors, popular myth, urban legends, etc. Read what comes after that "Letter by a Florida teacher" on Pell Grants on the page you linked to. Or that big, red 'False' just above it.
Hey Jack i never said i endorse or agree with anything listed there. I also never said i disagree. Your childish and personal attacks are getting boring. You are in the Heebus Jeebus ranks. I merely got it in an e-mail and passed it on with the instructions given to me. If you choose to spend the rest of your life attempting to dis credit it. Hey great for you God bless you. But to continually attack on a personal level is a sign of lower intelligence. If my posting bothers you so put me ON THE IGNORE LIST AS I HAVE PUT JEEBUS AND SEVERAL OTHERS. Then you will no longer see my posts or responses. Works for me give it a try. Or grow up will you.

You know Lucy when talking to children such as you Jack and all the other antagonistic posters. I feel it makes life easy . Once again use the ignore function i have added you right after this post Jack as well. I am tired of the negativity you bring to this forum. My life is great i am happy. I surround myself with happy positive people. So i just said to myself why bother with. Negative people on this forum enjoy my response as you and several others will never for the rest of your stay on this forum receive another. Post away i won't see it go find someone else to bother Lucy.

Aw, jeez ... I hate it when this happens. Two days in a row, this time.
Sheep, when I make a mistake, it's usually a pretty good one. Like now. I was wrong and operating on an incorrect assumption because I didn't go far enough back in the thread -- I thought you had posted the link to the snopes.com page that used that phony "Florida teacher" email as an example of an internet myth. I see now you started the thread by simply posting the email you'd received from someone else, without knowing it was misleading and inaccurate.
When I'm wrong, I'm really wrong, and I apologize for my mistake.

Too bad he will never see you're heartfelt apology !
Probably. But I can't control the outcome, I can only make the effort.
