Yeah Jack you did say that. Your not going to distance yourself from your comments as Obama has distanced himself from his pastors are you? Before he visits all 57 states.

Jack doesn't admit when he is wrong, his ego will not allow it. Kind of like BHO.

Pot? Kettle? These threads would be a lot more interesting and fruitful if they stayed more to the substance of the arguments... Y'all lose me when things start getting personal. We could probably all do a better job of arguing the message as opposed to the messenger. Just my $.02. Your mileage may vary.

Oh please tell them Earl, please. I just wanted to comment on one point; that supposed tape of Michelle Obama in the church...if you think that exists you seriously are living in an alternate world. From now on it is going to be a very interesting race to follow, a very entertaining race as well. I think it would be much enjoyable here if we refrain from personal attacks and debate like men. I just want to make one statement, and it will be probably the first and last time I direct an attack at someone, one small one, I just can't stand not making it: SHEEP, why did you change your avatar?? Are you unstable or what???

Lucky, grow up. Read your second paragraph, then your third. You are indeed living in an alternate world.

Why would you say that? Do you have some inside information that the rest of aren't privied to? This is from a column written by Larry Johnson: "I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.” I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks. "

If this tape comes out, it is over. If the tape exists. You libs who are asking yourself why Hillary did not concede last night and still hasn't...this may be the answer. I can't wait, if indeed it is true. It will expose the frauds for who they are.

Even if the tape never surfaces Obama is still done. When he distanced himself from the church last week. He lost that how shall i put it that militant vote. Mc Cain is the only logical Candidate he is a war hero. Those who make fun of his age smile etc.Are just disrespectful and ignorant. And unlike Obama has no skeleton's in his closet nor anyone to distance himself from. He will however distance himself from Obama during the election when the votes are tallied. He will leave Obama Osama whatever his name really is in the dust.

Well from what I've heard Obama hasn't really done anything. Most people agree he doesn't even have the skills to run the US. I have even heard that he has only gotten as far as he has because he is black. Like whats been said before if he wins some skin head group won't let him be president for long.

Wait, wait. You guys are quibbling over the phrases "military program" vs, "spending program"?? Okay, how about we just substitute "military spending program" instead? A new Pentagon-requested weapons system is both a military program and a spending program. It has be be examined and evaluated before approving it and committing taxpayer money. Or is it your opinion that Congress should fund any and all requests made by the Pentagon, no questions asked, solely because they want it? Or that "examination and evaluation" of new weapons systems before buying them are bad things?

During Obama's speech yesterday, he complimented McCain's service, then criticized McCain for not recognizing his accomplishments. I'm sure I wasn't alone when I wondered aloud to myself, what accomplishments?

Oh I forgot the best part of Obama's speech yesterday... "generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals." Sen. Obama Few things are larger than this man's ego. We need Obama to create jobs? Unemployment is 5%! Obama is going to help us care for the sick? We haven't been doing that all along? Obama is going to bring the oceans back to their normal level? WTF? Restore our image as the last, great hope on earth? What are we now? This man is an egomaniacal nut.

I actually like the new avatar, I was just wondering if you were unstable, because last time I changed my avatar, you called me unstable. http://forums.cigaraficionado.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/94...=987102764#987102764Scroll down to last post. quote: quote: Originally Posted by Lucky Break: 2-What does changing my avatar has to do with anything?

Sitting in my Political Science 444 - Campaigns & Elections class this past semester, the professor asked an open question of, 'What is Obama's greatest strength?' To which I yelled allowed, 'He's black!' I got many blank stares for this comment, but was applauded by the professor for pointing out the obvious answer (even though the professor was incredibly liberal).
Barack Obama doesn't have many strengths when it comes to the real government side of politics. Sure, he can speak well when reading off a teleprompter. He can raise his voice at the end of a sentence, but all that tells me is he paid attention to all of his reverends when they were giving speeches.
2 years in the Senate and a good reading/speaking ability don't make anyone a good candidate for President, I'm sorry. I love that an African American is being considered for President, but I would like it much more if that person was qualified.
There are a few ways he can win.... 1. By quickly diffusing all of the negatives he has against him, namely his church, possibly the tape, his inexperience, and his history of pork barrel spending. 2. If he picks a strong running mate. That doesn't mean Hillary. If he picks Hillary that is the most lopsided ticket ever. America is making strides, but a black guy and a woman on a ticket is too big of a stride for America right now, in my opinion. He needs someone experienced, well liked, moderate, and preferably from a swing state. 3. If McCain shoots himself in the foot. The only thing McCain really has going against him is his age. He has the military background, a good record in the Senate, and is well liked by Washington. He is the moderate conservative that is needed if the Republicans want to keep the white house. He needs to pick a young VP, probably Romney, and do well in the debates.
Personally, I'm not a fan of either of these candidates. I think that this election will go down in history as being two of the worst candidates to ever be up for the Presidency.
As far as Hillary is concerned, whether she is the running mate or not, Obama's successful campaigning could depend on her. Go back to the 1976 Presidential election. One of the main reasons Ford lost to Carter was because of Reagan. Ronald Reagan ran against Ford hard, and when Ford got the nomination, Reagan did the usual congratulating, but was quickly out of the picture. Ford wanted him to speak on his behalf in states that didn't like Ford, but liked Reagan, and he didn't. Some of those states that Reagan was supposed to visit favored Carter by 11,000 or 15,000 votes.
This election could come down to whether or not Hillary is going to be the Reagan of 1976. After how bloody this campaign got, I doubt she will be too vocal on his behalf, and with her hoping that this tape will be released (whether it exists or not) I can't see her striving too incredibly to help the Senator. She could turn out to be Bush in '80, a guy who went from 'voodoo economics' to the VP and staunch supporter, but only time will tell.
One last thing, if we are worried about wasteful spending and want Obama to be the cure to our economic problem by cutting military spending we should hope he wins, and has Hillary as VP. That way, they will cut money from the president side, and their not be | |
