I placed my Cohibas which were fresh of a flight and a bit dry pretty much right after the humidifier in the humidor. It has been two weeks and I checked them today and they feel really soft... A bit moist even. I hope I did not mess them up, but I did move them to another place in the humidor.
Certainly I join the others suggesting 65%. I would add though, that it might be worth dropping the humidity gradually, not from 77% right down to 65%, and then before smoking leave them for at least a few weeks after getting the humidity stabilized at 65%. Cigars don't like drastic changes of humidity or temperature, either up or down.

Mine reads about 70% but I think it's actually a little lower (never salt-tested it). Regardless though, my cigars smoke fine out of it, which is what counts. __________________________________________________

I second... In the last few months, I've lowered my humidity from 65% to 62-63% with even more excellent results...
