Quick question.

My humidor is running at about 72-77% humidity.

I placed my Cohibas which were fresh of a flight and a bit dry pretty much right after the humidifier in the humidor. It has been two weeks and I checked them today and they feel really soft... A bit moist even. I hope I did not mess them up, but I did move them to another place in the humidor.

Sounds like they sucked the moisture up. You will have to let them sit for a couple weeks again in a 65% humidity level.

Try to lower the humidity to 65%. Silica Gel packs or Heartfelt beads are best.

Too humid is not as bad as too dry.

Certainly I join the others suggesting 65%. I would add though, that it might be worth dropping the humidity gradually, not from 77% right down to 65%, and then before smoking leave them for at least a few weeks after getting the humidity stabilized at 65%. Cigars don't like drastic changes of humidity or temperature, either up or down.

Mine reads about 70% but I think it's actually a little lower (never salt-tested it). Regardless though, my cigars smoke fine out of it, which is what counts.

I'd aim for around 62 - 63 R/H and make sure your hygrometer is accurate.Analogs are notoriously innacurate, I hope yours is a digital.

Yeah 77% is way high, especially for CC's, but for NC's as well. Stay below 68%.

I second... In the last few months, I've lowered my humidity from 65% to 62-63% with even more excellent results...

Mine are aging in my coolidor at a steady 75%.

All are in boxes or still wrapped. I use Spanish Cedar blocks to help with the humidity level and have a digital hygrometer.

After some time in there I transfer them to a tabletop humidor where RH stays at about 62%.

Let them rest a few days and they are quite yummy smokes.

Colorado is very arrid.
