Ok guys, here's the USA Today CFB Preseason rankings. My Gators are the preseason #1 and favorite to repeat as national champions. There are others ranked in the Top 10 alone that do concern me though. Oh yeah, although I might sound a bit biased about this but there are like 4 SEC teams in the Top 10. That says something right there about the SEC. Anyways, here it is. Discuss. Cool

1.Florida (53)
2.Texas (4)
3.Oklahoma (1)
4.USC (1)
5.Alabama
6.Ohio St.
7.Virginia Tech
8.Penn St.
9.LSU
10.Mississippi
11.Oklahoma St.
12.California
13.Georgia
14.Oregon
15.Georgia Tech
16.Boise St.
17.TCU
18.Utah
19.Florida St.
20.North Carolina
21.Iowa
22.Nebraska
23.Notre Dame
24.BYU
25.Oregon St.

It sure does. It continues to confirm that the SEC is overrated and gets way too much love. There is no doubt in my mind that Florida will be a monster this year; however, there is no way that the SEC will have 4 teams in the top 10 at the end of the year. Of course, SEC fans will blame it on "the SEC is so tough and we beat up on each other all year long."

Yeah, Florida will be tough, but the SEC is brutal so good luck.

Love me or hate me...I'm an Irish fan. Born and raised 25 minutes from campus and a die hard. When college football season arrives, my days off change and Saturdays are spoken for. No weddings, no funerals, and my lovely wife accepts this obsession as well as anyone oculd.....

Our schedule is softer this season and we have some talent. I'm hoping for no more than one loss but I have been in denial since the early 90s so what do I know?

Really? Last year, 3 SEC teams (Fla, Bama, Ga) finished in the top 10 and a fourth (Ole Miss) at no. 15. Their combined record was 44 and 10, with 7 of the losses coming against SEC teams.

Totally. On the opposite end of the spectrum, those 3 teams were 7 and 0 against horrible non-conference teams.

Don't get me wrong, there is a ton of great football being played in the SEC and I really enjoy watching the games. I am of the opinion, however, that the SEC gets way too much love. Auburn was a top 10 team at the beginning of last year...how did they turn out? Vandy was ranked in the top 15 at one point. What about UT? They started off the year ranked 18 and then absolutely sucked.

Dont forget Alabama was a charade last year...they got SMOKED by Utah...the SEC has some great teams...but the conference itself is overrated and they play NO ONE out of conference...it drives me nuts...

Huskers 22nd? Ehhhh, we'll see. That might be a little high.

But if they can get past Troy St. Girls College before they get into conference play, they might move up. Those early season schedules are almost as much of a joke as college pre-season polls.

The Big 12 has just as many talented teams as the SEC. I think the SEC is just a little tougher conference. The Big 10 as fallen in the past few years. The ACC I personally believe is overrated. Va Tech I hate and really will be surprised if they do as good as projected they are overrated as well. The Pac 10 may have a solid year. The Big East has it moments but could be in big trouble especially if the Big 10 keeps the talk up by taking another team to make it twelve within the next few years. Probably Rutgers, Pitt or the Cuse would be asked to go. The Mountain West is no way better than the Big East. I am tired of all the supposed expert sports writers saying this. They give the Big East no love.

Can't wait till kickoff.

Cool MWC with 3 teams in the top 25. Nice to get a little love for once. Gues it takes Utah knocking the snot out of Bama, and of course lets not forget my Cowboys going into nashville and beating Tennessee last year. Not that they could get any momentum from that win, but it was still nice to see. Will have to see what the new coaching staff can do with our kids this year.

WVU has nothing coming back...they lost Pat White, he was the only thing they had last year. And, Noel Devine can not carry the team this season. But having said that, WVU will do fine in the Big (L)East...

And with all the love that Notre Lame gets, I'm surprised they aren't ranked #1, ahead of the Gators...
