After being tipped off by the current Cigar Insider, I found that the the Hawaiian legislature has passed SB 3262 which is draconian in its scope. Smoking will be banned basically from everywhere except within private homes. As for condos, lanai smoking could be affected since you must be a minimum of 20 feet from an entrance, venilation, windows that open etc.

It goes into effect Nov 16th IF the Governor signs it. If you live in Hawaii or even vacationthere, call or write Governor Lingle NOW and urge her to veto it.

Here is the text of the bill

The list of places in Europe you can smoke is shrinking too, blackie.

And I could never live in a country, like Switzerland, where companies are allowed to profit from the deaths of the sick and the old. Not to mention how BORING it is there.

It does amaze me how the state and local governments here in Hawaii, can endanger the health of people by allowing the burning of surgar cane fields, yet try to ban outside smoking.

Here is the contact info for the Govenor of Hawaii:Honorable Governor Linda Lingle

Cori its actually scary, it even starts here, the Italian part of Switzerland already passed a non smoking bill in restaurants and bars (UNBELIEVABLE)

and yes its boring as hell, thats why you have to get out regularly,as its in the center of Europe travelling is very easy, 2hrs drive to Italy, 1.5 hrs flight to London , 50 Minutes flight to Paris.

It took me 5 hours drive to Venice the other weekened, very nice, thats the advantage of living in this boring, but rich and safe country......... Wink
