What's the second worse thing that could happen to an avid cigar smoker? A sinus infection! What's worse than that? Two of them in the span of two weeks! i was so frustrated i tried to smoke one this weekend... not a good idea and i strongly discourage anyone trying this unless; you actually want your $6 cigar to taste like snot and @$$. i can only hope it'll all be over soon...

That sucks. A severe cold or sinus trouble also sideline me from smoking, but it's rare. If I feel anything like that coming on I usually stop smoking cigars right away as I have found that smoking aggravates it. If I knock off cigars, take some zinc lozenges and vitamin C it usually passes within a week. If I don't, it gets worse and I am sidelined from smoking for several weeks.

I hope you feel better! Just think of the money you save when you aren't smoking all of those luscious, brown, leathery, full bodied, tasty cigars...mmmm smoketastic...Now I have to go smoke a cigar.

Wow ... I'm just getting to the end of a serious sinus infection. Still on the amoxicylin. Yuck.

I maybe could handle a cigar tasting like snot OR ass, but not snot AND ass, lol. Hope you get better soon.

I guess I won’t see you at the shop Wednesday night.

I get at least one rotten cold per year and it usually happens when the weather starts to warm up. I suspect it's part allergy, part cold, but I never have the other allergy symptoms except for the congestion.

Anyway, when it happens, I'm usually a non-smoker for at least two weeks. It's just a miserable experience trying to smoke a cigar when you're stuffed up.

I must be old school... I had a sinus infection three weeks ago and still had to smoke one or two sticks a day. Those were the worst smokes I have had since the last time I was sick... Man, something about your taste buds and smell when you get a cold. blahhh... I guess it is just a force of habit.

I just got over from being sick. You're right about the cigars tasting like @ss. I smoked two cigars in a row and got nothing but sour from them. I let my friends try them and they said they were fine. Truely frustrating Mad Mad

Yeah, when I get a cold everything tastes like bad or no flavor. I have 2 ways of taking care of a cold:

1. Zinc tabs. Echinacia and or golden seal herbs. And lots of hot tea with lemon and honey. Usually takes three days for the cold to leave.

2. Failing the above....fall back to the military method. CS Tear Gas. Clears EVERYTHING out!! Eek Big Grin

Sorry for you infection.

Best antibiotic for sinusitis is Levaquin 500-mg daily for 2 weeks. If that doesn't knock it out it isn't a sinus infection.

When I start getting a cold or something similar, I just throw back a couple of whiskey shots. It usually works killing whatever it is.

I second Idesign's suggestion.

Johnnie Walker Black should do the trick. I wouldn't waste the single malts on a sickness.

As I perused my cigars today laying in their boxes and humidors, trying to decide which I should smoke, I thought of you. I said, "if that poor sap jsprenkel could smoke one of these cigars, which would it be?" Would it be one of my EL PSD#3's? Or perhaps my 2002 Anejo Sharks? Perhaps he would be lured by the chocolatey wrapper of a Cuban MC#3, the last one of which I smoked was like an hour in heaven. Maybe he'd want to smoke my Carlos Sr. autographed Opus X Perfexion A?

Ah well it's a moot point, as he still isn't well and he's miles from my coolerdor! Wink
