Got an email from Jrcigars about new "East India Collection" from the Gurkha line, suppose to be a new smoke made by Gurkha ...anyone have experience with this brand. They are come with either a Ecuador Sumatra or a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro. I smoked one years ago and it was mediocre at best..but I heard the brand has improved dramatically..They have received decent ratings in CA magazine recently.
Those who do not fight evil, command it to be done.
I've had a few Gurhka's and most of them were just ok. I would never pay MSRP for them and usually only get them on CBID when they are dirt cheap and I want to try something new.
I also have let most of ones I've tried age for a few months and that greatly improves them.

I have had quite a few Gurhkas and have had mixed experiences. About a month ago, I had a Centurian that had been aged for about a year. It was one of the best smokes I have ever had. The complexity was amazing. I have also had quite a few of them (Vintage, Boer, etc.) that have been pretty bad. For the most part, the Centurian, Nepalese Warrior, Class Regent, and Master's select have been decent smokes for me. I have only purchased them when they were a weekly special at discount prices. So all have been less than $4-5 a stick. At that price, I would recommend that you give them a try to see if they fit your tastes.
By the way, my favorite NC's right now are Cabaiguan, Tatuaje brown labels, PAM's, VSG's, etc.
