I got my first issue of Cigar Magazine. Didn't have a chance to read it, but looks like most of the articles over there are about cigars.
Now I am looking forward for a quite moment to read it while smoking nice Churchill size cigar.

Great magazine. Very well made, nice paper, and it seems that the articles are going to be very informative.

Some one finally listened and put the CIGAR back into being a cigar aficionado. No toys, no celebrities, just tons of tobacco. Even a pipe article. Go CIGAR mag! Maybe the guys at CA will wake up and respond to the competition.

Got mine as well/ So far so good. I like the format, as well as the Value ratings on the cigars.

I liked the fact that the whole magazine (except for a little bit on cars) was focused on... cigars! What a concept! Now the drawback to this was the cigars talked about, and i stated this in another thread, were only sticks that you could pick up at JR's. Yes, CA is not perfect by any means, but i thought the magazine lacked variety in that respect. However, on the positive, there were some really cool articles. i did have a hard time with the rating system. i liked the value rating but i do like CA's ONE final score. my 2 cents.

Damn, 2 year subscription and you get free cigars. Hope that deal lasts long enough so that I can get my next paycheck. Going to college and living paycheck to paycheck sucks.

Got the two year subscription. Cigars arrived in two days.

I took the "Belicoso Sampler" of 8 instead of the other size options.

Received:

2 Montecristo Serie V - Belicoso
2 Romeo y Julieta Maduro Reserve - Belicoso
2 Trinidad - Belicoso
1 Montecristo White Label - #2 Belicoso
(was supposed to be a Platinum - Habana No. 2)
1 Romeo y Julieta 1875 - Belicoso

Going to let them sit for a couple weeks before I start enjoying them.

Have read it cover to cover and really enjoyed the magazine. Only one problem I have. They are going to have to publish it more frequently!! Maybe weekly would be good! Big Grin

The cigar rating sucked. They told me next to nothing.

Mike

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I agree with Michaelsean. I feel that the ratins in CA, although being suspected of being bias, at least told how the cigar tasted, the draw, the burn, etc. With Cigar Mag., all I get were a whole bunch of numbers and a picture of the cigar.

I am very satisfied with the rest of the magazine, however. I do enjoying seeing a magazine about cigars to actually include more than 20 pages of cigars. Can't wait for the next issue.

Hey, you think if we keep this topic going for long enough, CA might get the clue???

Now in defense of CA, I did find my holiday gift idea for the males in the family (wifes and mine) who are not very close. That $3000.00 robe should be adequate. Now I just have to find something SPECIAL for the relatives that are a little closer. Big Grin Big Grin

I posted in a earlier thread about this. While I think that the ratings are ridiculous, after reading through it, it is nice to see a magazine that actually focuses on cigars, instead of making them an after thought. It has its flaws for sure, but the articles were very interesting. I'm considering a subscription.

$40 bucks for TWO years and 8 free cigars. What more do you have to think about?

#1. The cigars that are offered aren't that appealing.

#2. If I think the magazine sucks it's not worth any amount of money.

The consideration is obvious, do I like it enough to spend $40 on a subscription? Since the cigars are not a factor for me, it's all based on weather or not I think the mag is worth $40. Pretty simple.

It was a good read. Enjoyed haveing a new opinion on smokes as well as articles about cigars and the history of the cigar store Indian. No toys, just cigars.
