I can see the BCS committee drafting up ideas for a playoff right now.
I agree that something needs to be done, but you have to admit this has ben one crazy football season.Any team can beat any team on any given week.It may only be 1 in 10 tries but if that one is in a national championship game who cares you know.
What would you rather have, A playoff or the Bowl system in place now?
I kinda like the idea of a round robin type system. #1 goes to NC game, (2&5) play and (3&4)play each other. Then the winners of (2&5),(3&4) play each other. The the winner of that game plays number one in the NC game. The biggest problem of anything other than what is in place is the length of the season would be longer.Unless you just meet in the rose bowl and play all the games everyday till the last team is left standing. But that in itself creates other issues.
Why do these types of questions always lead to debates about tournaments and playoffs? Given the current system, make a case for who should be in there. Everything else is a waste of time because they are never going to go to a playoff.

UGA or LSU, more than likely. Either one would be favored by a lot.
Thats a pretty bold statment there Cornholeio. We'll see what happens in the Big Easy.

Hawaii, if they win tonight, deserves to play OSU. We may never see a playoff because so much $ is at stake for these universities under the current system which, like several calls against Pitt, is a sham. It's too bad that such a great college spectator sport is the only major one without a playoff. Fans deserve one!
