Hey everyone! Have any of you purchased a humidor on Ebay? If so, was it worth the price? Could you give me the name of a seller you trust? I need a higher capacity humidor but some of the prices out there are crazy!
The Ebay ones seem to be a great deal and are very tempting...
I bought one over a year ago off of ebay, sorry I don't remember the seller. It was about $65-70 shipped and held about 100-150 cigars. Just stay away from the ones that are waaay to cheap for the size as most of these aren't lined with kiln-dried spanish cedar. Recently I switched to a Vinotemp wine chiller for storing large quantities, you may wanna look into that. I don't even use a desktop anymore. For about $75-120 you can get a decent large humidor on ebay or go with a Vinotemp for $130-200 and be done with it. Hope this helps

A bunch of the humidor listings say they have kiln-dried dividers, guess the rest is just regular wood.
This design though is similiar to a humidor on StogiesHumidor.com: http://www.stogieshumidors.com/shop/humidors/large-humi...desktop-humidor.html But this is one of those etailers that I have never heard anything about. I like the design though. I buy a lot of single cigars (going to start purchasing some boxes soon though) and for some reason I hate the idea of having to stack different cigars on each other. These tray will let me keep everything separate.
Do you by any chance have a link to the Vinotemp product you bought? Definitely interested in that option.
I am in the same boat as you when it comes to looking for a humidor. Have you checked out Cuban Crafters? I've heard that they're very good. For now, I'm looking for a simple humidor and will purchase a more elaborate looking one once I develop a collection. Here's a deal that I'm looking at right now:
I hate to get off topic in regards to ebay, but I'm merely trying to expand your options. Although I've previous bought non-tobacco related items (such as a humidor or a lighter) on ebay, I would be a little cautious. That's just my opinion.
Hope this post helped!

Raziel66, the humidor you showed on ebay are all the fake humidors that Graham T. warned about. And Guardian, Cuban Crafters have quality humidors for a great price, but their cigars suck. Stay away from those dog rockets, but humidors are fine.

here you go. You can get cedar trays for organizing or stack boxes on the racks. The best part is you control the temperature. It's great if you live in places where it gets too hot. If your not careful a desktop or large wood humidor can get very hot, mess with the humidity and become a liability for cigar storage. With the vinotemp, just get a good humidity source like some beads and keep the temperature in the low to mid 60s and forget about it. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-4838518-089932...ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001
Target had a sale 2 weeks ago where the Vinotemp was down to $139. Needless to say a lot of cigar enthusiests bought them up quickly.

I decided against ordering online and purchased my first humidor today at my local B&M. I did this because they have great customer service and I'm giving them as much money as I can before I begin buying all of my cigars online. It ran me about $75 and is a very basic humidor. It's called the Mountaineer by Craftman's Bench and can hold approximately 90 cigars.
It's a very ordinary humidor, but I wanted something relatively cheap before deciding to purchase an expensive one.
Good luck humidor hunting!

I would recommend staying away from the online humidors, at least on E-bay. I bought mine about a year ago and it sucked. Never sealed properly and I've been fighting humidity problems from the start. If money is a concern then build your own coolerador, otherwise go with the Vinotemp. I built my first coolerador for about $30 and it held around 300 cigars. Do a search for "coolerador" if you want to find out how. Best of luck.
These "humidors" are a classic case of you get what you pay for. I bought one of these a couple of months ago, and it's a piece of crap. The construction is so poor, it can't actually be used as a humidor! Luckily, it only cost me $25 to find out.

After looking at the offerings from Cuban Crafters, I really like their prices. The vinotemp looks great, but I will probably hold off until I move. The display humidor from CC looks like it will hold enough, and the price and size are right.
