The other night I was talking to a friend of mine whos dad has a large stash of cigars. His dad decided to give him a ziploc bag full of cigars (im assuming to make room in his humidor) but my friend tried one and decided that he didn't enjoy cigar smoking at all. I told him that I would glady take the extra cigars of his hands, but the problem is that they have now been out of a humidor for about a month and a half or so. When I got the bag I was impressed to see its about 20 cigars or so with some fairly decent quality brands, but they seem to be dried out. My question is, can these cigars be rehumidified? As a new smoker I don't even own a humidor yet, but can probably find a place to stash them for a % of the stash =). Anyway, can these cigars be salvaged or are they trash?
Yes you can save them. Until you get a humidor go out and buy a piece of tupperware that has an air tight lid (and that will hold all the cigars). The thing to remember is to give them humidity a little at a time. If you do it to fast the cigars might split on you if they are really dry.
