anyone have any experience with this? looking to buy a small flash mp3 player for the girl for xmas...her main use is taking it to the gym so I want to keep it small, this had some good reviews on cnet.com.
I've had mine for about 2 years now. Sound quality from Cowon is one of the best of all the players. The player is small (fits inside the little coin pocket in jeans), super light, and is relatively sturdy. Navigation is fairly simple.
There is also a U3 now that is about the same size and plays video.
Only thing is, the new ipod nano has much better storage. The nano is bigger, cost more, and is fragile...but the storage capacity is probably worth it.

She'll be using it for the gym, jogging weights, that kind of stuff so sturdiness is a factor. And as for storage, 1 gb will get pleeeenty of songs on there for her while she's at the gym for an hour or so.

I don't see the usefullness of video unless you have massive storage capacity.
As with all players, the phones it comes with suck. Even the most expensive Ipods come with total garbage phones. So you might want to throw in a nice set of phone or advise her to get herself some afterwards.
