Purely out of interest, not to prove anything one way or another. For those here who do not have a vote in the election today, that is, non US-citizens. Of the two front-running candidates who would you vote for to be the next President of The United States?

I'd vote for Obama. _________________________________________________

I am actually not a citizen just a permanent resident, so I cannot vote. However, if I'd vote I would vote McCain (no I didn't vote for ralph nader), I can't help but question where Obama's loyalty lie, that and his policies.

I love America, have fond memories of time spent there, some of my closest friends are from CA where my girlfriend lived for 7 years, one of my very best friends is a NY Doctor... (the sort of person you'd call first if something terrible had happened and you had to bury a waitress in the desert in Nevada after a night on the tiles in Vegas had gone terribly wrong... Ok enough said here, move on, there's nothing to see!)
So I hope most American posters won't see my post or most of the posts here as people 'meddling in our affairs'. I'm not someone who wants to see America go downhill, but that's how I think America has gone over the past 8 years. When AMerica prospers, so do I.
I think someone inspirational who surrounds themselves with the best and the brightest (rather than someone with the 'common touch' who surrounds himself with people who think like him) is what's needed as we head into the biggest economic depressionin the last hundred years.
What you yanks don`t understand is that we in the rest of the world and especially up here have to hear & see your president on TV almost as often as you do.
You might as well have someone who knows how to speak.
Reagan, Bush the father & Clinton were different but they were all very good to listen & watch. They sounded like presidents.
Reagan was an authentic person. Bush I & Clinton were very intelligent. They were not perfect but they were articulate and projected an image of dignity, confidence, simplicity and humility.
I`ve had to go through a few prime ministers here that sounded like shifty thoughtless nobodies. Apart from Trudeau & Mulroney the rest were terrible in public. Harper & Chretien were somewhat palatable. The rest I could barf on.
QM Quality does not occur by chance. It is the result of intelligent activities.

I agree. The president must have personality, presence and charisma. Being a good orator is also highly important. I don't think McCain has these qualities. ________________________________________________
