I still ask my parents for advice. I may not always follow it, but it's usually sound advice.

I have two amazing parents, and I have always respected their experience.

To those that no longer talk to parents - sort it out quickly. Life is far too short. If you make the first move and it is not responded to, then so be it, but don't let it be you that lives a lifetime of regret when they pass away... I feel a little like that over my grandmother, although there was no bad blood as such.
