Justin, did you order a Cigar Oasis XL Plus? I think you will be happy with it. Mine is pushing my unit to 80% RH (because I'm seasoning the spanish cedar) in five minutes and maintaining it perfectly. It recovers a ten second door opening in < 2 minutes. My Cigar Oasis is on the dot accurate as far as I can tell – I’m very happy about that.
thanx man. everything is goin great with mine. i must sat your shelfs are really nice, great work on those

There is not a huge difference in the two, but If the its not getting you quite high enough, you can easily add a xikar crystal humidifier.(or a heartfelt, I like the xikars better) I have close to 500 cigars in my new humi, and the Oasis Plus is doing great, but I do have 2 xikar humififiers up at the top. Im sitting at 66%rh, so im very happy

I'm very happy with this project - can't wait to put my cigars in there.
Plug it.
The unit looks great, M. Your attention to detail is excellent. I am glad that your project is going smoothly... it will be rewarding when it is done!
did you attach the spanish cedar to the cooler's inner walls using industrial velcro ??
Ya, lol.
It's temporary, the adhesive is removable and odorless, it is thin, it is strong, and it is modular. Why, did I lose you on that one?

Very nice work. I don't like seeing the plastic though, would have to cover the inside all in cedar. What do you do to keep your singles from rolling off the shelves?
(Edit) Also, you should tint the glass!

dstokely, sure! I was going to let the thread gather some more info first, and wait until I'm finished with this huge project I'm doing for school, but a PDF is in the works...I wanted everyone to contribute and edit it, make it sort of open.
AnRyan, thanks, no idea how many boxes, twenty four Monte No. 2?? I think stuffing it completely might be a bad idea, but I'll bet it would hold twenty four average boxes, 15 large boxes, with enough space for decent air flow.
AKmik, how many boxes have you managed to get into yours?
Ozz, I understand about your preference for a cedar lining. But there is plenty of cedar in there as it is (that's 3/8" stock!) and I want to maximize the space. When looking at the unit with the door closed, the black plastic is invisible and it gives the impression of great depth contrasted with the brightly colored cigar boxes.
As far as singles go, I need to purchase some trays. However, this unit will be for long term storage of boxes primarily.
The glass is already lightly tinted and it is UV protective - however this is a great idea and should be brought up!

Aphexafx the cedar from your shelfs, and from your boxes will be enough. I just got my box of Siglo IV's in, have two more orders still to come. I think I will have just enough room. Finished the shelves, and they are filled to capacity(they hold about 60 per shelf) Im sure it wont be long before I order another. Heres the pics...
Thans aphexafx and take your time on that. I don't want to rush you so no worries. I was just trying to find out if you were going to do a PDF, now that I know you are I am good.

allfor, looks great! Looks full lol. How is your humidity holding up? Are you getting condensation drips from your cooling element?

I decided to put 2 Xikar Humidifiers up top, because the Cigar Oasis is on bottom, and its already so full, the top wasnt getting enough humidity. Now I have 3 hygros in it(top, middle, bottom) and they are all sitting at 66-68 rh, and the temp holding at 64. The condensation(which there isnt alot) is dripping into my heartfeld beads perfectly.
If you have any smell left in yours, it will be taken over immediately by your cedar and cigars. I had virtually no smell, and now mine smells just great, cigars and cedar! Looking forward to seeing that finished product aphexafx.

industrial velcro is pure genius.. I love it.. I was wondering how to attach the cedar planks to the iner walls, without using any glue or screws... I guess velcro will do it...
