Well I just got my cooler in. Working good so far. Got a cedar tray in there to get some "smell" in it. Couple of humidity jars and my dig hygrometer. I will keep you all updated as to what I do to it and how it is working. Heres a pic.

Hey Justin,

I havent really had anytime with my cooler yet.. I left for out of town this morning. Its actually still in the box. Did yours have any smell inside? and are your shelves easy to pull out, I had a hard time.

There was no smell at all. I had my wife smell just to double check, she said "it smells like nothing". So, I didn't wash the inside or use baking soda. My shelves slide out very easy. That cedar tray I have in there came out of a 100 count desktop. Fits perfectly longways. I'm gonna pick up some of those kitty litter silica beads tomorrow. I'm going to plug the little drain hole with a cork of some sort and use a tray for the beads. Just like the one posted earlier in this thread.

I think for $100 this is gonna be a wise buy. I would suggest this to anyone have high temp problems.

The temp on mine is adjustable from 55-66. I have it set for 65 and it has stayed at that ever since it cooled down to that mark. Just need to get my humidity up now.

I know later on down the road I'm gonna go with a bigger cooler, but I had to save my cigars from this Texas heat immediately.

One more thing to add. The construction of this cooler is great. Very sturdy and stable. No vibration at all. Sitting in my room with nothing on except this, I still could not hear it.

Hope everyone is doing well. Justin

When I first turned it on and put my hygro in the humidity went down to 52%. Now, about 3 hours later, my hygro reads 67 degrees, 70% humidity.

Well I' gonna see how the silica beads do. If they hold steady I will just stick with those. If not, I'm gonna go another route. This unit is not really big, so I don't think I'm gonna need an Oasis or such. I'm not gonna go all out and put fans and line it with cedar. I'm gonna put 2 more trays in, which will be plenty of cedar. The one I have in there now already has it smelling like a humidor. Enough air circulation is taken care of by the cooler fan. Anymore question feel free and ask. Justin

Yea I changed my mind about lining it with cedar. I am in the process of building cedar trays. I am gonna keep the top two shelves in for sigles, and the rest of the bottom for my boxes. I have alot more boxes than I can handle, so that is where I need most of the storage. I will get my Cigar Oasis in there going too. Im excited to get back home to it. Are you gonna fill that baby up, or do you have some room to spare?

I have room to spare right now. All I had before this was a 100ct humidor. Had a box of Padrons in the bottom and singles in the tray. So, I get to go shopping this weekend to fill some space. Smile

It's nice having more room.

Hey Justin sounds like everything is going well and you are happy so far. Smile Post us some pics.

I'm taking tomorrow off to go out to the shop and work on my cooler. Got my Cigar Oasis and cedar ready to go. Still waiting on my new hygro-thermometer though.

That's great man. Are you thinking about that cool finished cabinet or the one like mine? I think the finished cabinet one is slightly smaller, but it should hold a nice stash. Smile

I emailed Wine Enthusuast and asked for the internal dimensions of mine before I ordered it, and then built a mock up of the inside space using cardboard so I could get a feel for it lol. But at least there were no surprises. Smile

I'm embarking on my setup tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited about it. Let us know what you start yours too! Cheers!

I dont know what hygrometer you got, but this is the new one I got.. http://www.cigarmony.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=85

I still have 2 small round digital ones that you can calibrate, and I will have them in the cooler as well. BUt Im looking forward to not having to look in to see the humidity. I will just sit it on top, and the remote in the cooler.

Cool, that's like what I use in my large cabinet. They work very well, and mine is almost eight years old and still working perfectly.

For this new cooler I am going to use one of these: http://www.professionalequipment.com/extech-digital-hyg...ech-humidity-meters/

I'm going to try to figure out a mounting solution so that it is right at the face of the glass on the door.

Wow thats crazy, I actually had the big digit hygro from Extech.. weird. I sent it back though and they refunded my money(because it was 8% off). It was a little over a year ago. Yours looks totally cool sweet. so are you lining the whole inside with cedar, or just the shelves?

I had been looking for some cedar trays for my cooler and no luck(everything was out of stock) so I was gonna build my own. Then just now I found some 12in x 8.5in cedar trays, and I purchased 3 of them. heres the site if anyone wants to know. They also have different sizes.

allfor thanks for that link! I've been looking too. That's swell. But where do you see the dimensions listed??? Nevermind that minor bit of dumb on my part!

Luckily the Extech I ordered can be calibrated for humidity and temp! Razz I'll watch it closely though....I hope it works out.

I'm just putting cedar slats on the shelves. Two shelves plus faces will equal about 3 sq. feet x 3/8" of cedar, should be plenty. I might add more in the future, but I want to maximize space and go from there.

I hear you're going to forego a complete lining? I think it will be easier to clean that way personally, and if you decide that you want to line it, you can always go back and do it.

just ask google.
For example - if you want 22 C converted to F.
Type into google:
"22C to F"
