That is a beautiful model. I will definitely give it a look. It would be a great addition to the office.

Just got my Wine Cooler in today. As well as I just got the Spanish Cedar in(it smells great)
The Inside has no smell at all, so I don't think washing it down will be necessary. Will have the Cigar Oasis in the morning. I am starting on the cedar shelves and sides/back tonight. Cant wait to see everyone else's pics.

Congrats to all the new coolidor owners. I've been using mine since November and couldn't be happier. I keep all my boxes in the fridge and I have 1 50 count singles humi on top of the fridge. Beware though, they fill up quickly.

ccsiglo, yes it has a lock (it is rather odd, using a hex-key not a regular pin-key, but it will still keep people out). Also, the shelves are obviously straight, and not crooked like in that pic.

allforcigars, sweet man! I plan on taking everything out to my dad's shop on Thursday. Good luck on your build.

JWeb, thanks. I had about six boxes with only three or four cigars in them, so I took those and made small single bundles to free up the box space - so I have a rather large box void at the moment (only four or five)...can't wait to order some good stuff to put in this thing.

The same question to you. What do you plan on doing regarding condensation. It is even necessary to do anything at all?

so how much of this kitty litter would one need?

I have about 3.5 pounds in the wine cooler itself and another 1/2 pound in the humi. I had a 8lb bag and its more than 1/2 empty now.

I really thing the wine cooler I have produces humidity for some reason. There never seems to be condensation on the wine bottles (top shelf has about 8 bottles - 50 bottle capacity cooler)

For all those interested in using kitty litter beads, be careful. DO NOT GET THE LITTER WITH THE BLUE CRYSTALS. I purchased one that had them. No scent, but I didn't want to risk a change in flavor. I went to pet supermarket and purchased Crystal Clear Litter Pearls. The beads are small and almost perfectly round. Not crystals like the other litter.

This is a picture of the bag I got from Pet Supermarket: http://www.ultrapet.com/litterpearls.html

They have a retail locater on their site for stores that carry their brand.

I put zero water on my pearls and with about 4lbs in a 50 count wine cooler, the humidity ranges between 66%-67%. I'd like to get it down a bit more so I may need to get another pan and put the rest in the cooler. We'll see

Honestly, I only ran the cooling unit for about a couple of weeks when I first set it up. I live in "ice-land" so cooling is only a problem for me in July and August. That being said it does get between 25 and 32 for those 2 months so I wanted to have a unit that I could cool if I wanted to. I'm not sure yet how to deal with the condensation but for 2 months of the year I'll figure something out.

I've seen where some guys have routed a drain back into their beads. It kind of makes a continuous loop.

Sorry but I don't understand Farenheit (I don't think I can spell it either) unless it's on a stove. The temp ranges here from -30 to 30 degrees celcius. I think that is a range of
-22 to 90 farenheit.

Good question as regards condensation, whomever asked it. My experience with my unit has been absolutely zero moisture problem. I mentioned that I used the beads earlier in this thread and I'm pretty sure that that solves my problem, but I really can't offer any advice as to how effective the other systems would be, maybe someone with something other than beads can enlighten.

Ok, well do you have a bowl at the bottom uncovered. or do you just have the prebuilt rectangle things that have beads in them(from heartfelt of course)

I have two of the rectangle things with beads in them, and i wonder if i install them with no moisture in them, it will work to soak up the condensation from the inside of the cooler? Any Comments?

I saw on one of the other threads someone channeled the condensation into the beads at the bottom of the unit, that also eliminated the need to add water to the beads.

Not sure how to do it but search the threads.

Good luck. I am thinking of trying it myself.

There is a formula for converting celsius to farenheit and vice versa but I don't remember it.

Yes that should work, allfor. You'll need to plug your drain hole and place one of those full of dry beads on top of it. Then use something like AKmik used to channel the condensation onto it.

Here are some pics referred by AKmik regarding exactly this: http://www.cigarpass.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35094

I think I have an even easier solution though because I want to avoid taping up the interior. I'm going to get a one or a few of these: http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/products.asp?cat=36 at the 70% RH rating and simply place it in the small reservoir surrounding the drain hole. This way I can avoid having to mess with a channel of any sort. I'm getting the 70% RH stuff so that it will be readily re-evaporated and so that it will not absorb anything from the (hopefully) 65% ambient air.

Edit: Damn! I just realized that they don't make 70% sheets. Why!? Damn! If they won't make me some custom, 65% should still work fine.
