Anyone else use this browser? I use it because I think it stands head and shoulders above IE in just about every function. I have noticed recently that theres a few compatability issues with CA forums and firefox, for example, I can't access anyones profiles because when I click on someones name I don't get the drop-down menu. Considering about 37% of internet browsers now use firefox maybe the forums need an update?

Tom,
Firefox is the best. You can open the profile dropdown with Alt_Click.

I use Firefox as well, way better than IE. And yes, I have been suffering from the same thing you are talking about. Whenever I want to see someone's profile I have to open the page in IE.

I agree firefox is the best but the alt-clicking thing doesn't work for me. Like LuckyBreak, I use IE to view profiles.

I use both Firefox and Safari. The Safari browser doesn't seem to have any incompatibility problems. Both of these are far superior to IE.

And yet, I'm not sure if there is a Safari version for the PC?

Apple has indeed released Safari for Windows, though I can't imagine why any PC user would care.

One of life's biggest headaches for web designers like me is the lack of standardization in the way Firefox, IE and Safari render CSS. Firefox does a better job of adhering to the W3C Standards, but in the real world, you have to design for IE, then come up with a kludge for the others. It's a pain in the butt.

I have been using Firefox since it became Firefox (formerly Mozilla, which was my previous browser). I love it and cannot be converted, no matter what anyone does, although I actually thought Mozilla was more functional.

This too shall pass.

I don't see what the problem is with IE7. Why do people feel the need to switch? Other than when it was new, IE7 has worked fine for me. My friends all use firefox and i can't find where it's that much better.

I use firefox also and I love it. I used to use Netscape which I think is made by Mozilla if I am correct.

But Firefox is the way to go.

Well, IE7 is designed off of all the features that Mozilla/Firefox came up with, it is essentially a rip-off of it. So, if you've been using Firefox for years for its superior features, what would be the point of now switching to the copycat IE7? Furthermore, IE gives its fast connections by always remaining on, even when you close it, which is a feature many do not care for. Finally, Firefox is a non-profit, "public benefit" organization, unlike the Evil Empire that is Microsoft. Using Firefox is a subtle and low-energy way to fight the man, and maintain a free and open marketplace.

This too shall pass.

Alt-click doesn't work for me. It opens the downloads tab and then nothing happens.

I use Firefox 2 as my main browser at home and [Version 3] Beta 5 at work. ALT+Click brings up the Save As window in Firefox for me. What version of Firefox are you using?

Anyways, Firefox is consistently the faster of the two browsers in all the speed comparison tests. As a note to all XP users, the reason why Microsoft even developed a version of IE7 with tabbed browsing for Windows XP was to stem the tide of market share going to Firefox. Initially IE7 was supposed to be released for just Windows Vista.

Well I am a closet Luddite. I just use what came with my Windows XP.

I will say that Vists SUX and I hate it. I have to relearn all my favorite programs like Word and Power Point. Why do they change navigation and toolbars when people are comfortable with them?

Same here, I started using Firefox because it wasn't IE. I have the 2.0.0.14 version and still can not get the drop down menu.
