It is said that if you enyou fine cheese and wine, you should'nt be drinking expensive wine, since the cheese makes all wine taste the same, and you would'nt be able to make the distinction between premium and ordinary wine.

I was wondering if you could say the same about cigars and spirits? If you enyou premium cigars, should you be drinking expensive spirits? Or the other way around?

What is your personal experience?

Can't argue with that!

Having been to many cigar/whisky pairings, I can tell you that not all spirits pair well with all cigars. Having been at it for awhile I've found my personal tastes. I personally only drink certain beer and liquor with my cigars.

I prefer to drink ales and stouts, port, and single malt whisky with cigars, your mileage my vary.

I drink 16-year-old scotch or premium Bourbon. Sometimes I drink Hennessy XO.

Only the best for me.

IMO, all the various wine, spirits, cigar articles still reflect the taste of the individual writing the article.

Since it is your money, and your taste buds, just buy the ones you enjoy, and don't worry about the price.

Part of this hobby is experimenting with different sticks, spirits and the entire experience of cigar smoking. Try it all and have fun trying to find that perfect match. I kinda hope I never find the perfect match as I am haveing a heck of a time trying to.
