I was always partial to Jesus Is Just Alright (not the later cover by the Doobies).
I think the Byrds really found their groove when they hired Gram Parsons and released the vastly under-appreciated Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Then Parsons left (way too soon) and took Chris Hillman with him to form the Flying Burrito Brothers. As a nod of appreciation to the Byrds, a new LA group just signed by David Geffen in 1970 named themselves The Eagles.

I am such a big fan of The Byrds. I love both eras - "Everybody's Been Burned" with David Crosby is fantastic - Gene Clark with "Feel a Whole Lot Better" - great pop
Further down the road when Gram joined the band for the short time then followed by Clarence White and the b-bender guitars, the genesis for the Alt. Country/Americana genre was born (also see International Submarine Band). I am a fan of "Chestnut Mare," "Ballad of Easy Rider" and "Jesus is Just Alright" from the later era.
I do love The Byrds - sorry for the long diatribe; I am a bit of a music historian and a free-lance music critic.
