It's official. Prince Edward Island has now legalized carbonated beverages in cans and plastic bottles. I for one will not celebrate as I enjoy my Pepsi in a glass bottle. I'll have to stock up , Cuba libres just taste better with our "old" Pepsi.

We are not really just getting them. We banned them 24 years ago and are now re-allowing them. It was all to save jobs at a bottling plant and environmental reasons. PEI was the only jurisdiction in North America that you could not buy non-refillable containers.

I totaly agree with you.. I'm not sure if it's nostalgia from my early years, but somehow a pepsi tastes so much better in a glass bottle than any other type of container...
also, the glass bottles are perfect for chugging it down...

Any beverage does take beer for example. I never drink beer out of the can. Gross!

I was told at a local microbrewery, by the biochemist that owns the company, that beer out of a can tastes more like beer should than beer out of a bottle. He said it has to do with the air-tightness of the can. I would think if you pour it out of the can first though.
But IMO soda out of a glass bottle is much better than plastic or aluminum.

Does anyone remember the old commercial from the 70's with Chris Schenkel talking about beer and "the clean fresh taste of glass"
I am not a Pepsi drinker but I love Coca Cola in the old green hourglass bottles.

Up until Saturday it was the only way I could buy it. It was by far better than out of a plastic bottle or can. I wish that I had have bought a few cases for mixing with this summer. Pepsi swooped in and took all the bottles that were left in the stores and replaced them with plastic. I think they wanted to limit the number of bottles that were still floating around in peoples basements and closets as they have to still honour the deposit.

There is going to be a deposit on the plastic and cans, 10 cents. The deposit on the old 750ml glass bottles was 35 cents and the 355ml glass were 15 cents.

After viewing the lastest episodes of Big Fat Loser, it looks like we're starting to move AWAY from multiple plastic bottles and towards reusable bottles with Brita filtered water.
I love my Brita pitcher. Now if they only made one with diet pepsi flavor and a carbonator, I'd be set!
I'm sure it will cut down on all that violence you guys have up there in Canada. Its just not the same getting hit in the head with a plastic bottle of pepsi.
