Hey guys whats up just joined today. I was looking for a hobby to start and decided on cigars will be picking some up today and tomorrow to try them out and see what I like figured I would say hello.
welcome...these boards are great. use the search function, enjoy the new hobby, if you get into it and get a humidor buy a bigger one than you think you will need and NEVER EVER start a "tonight's smoke" thread, thats Mr. Docs job/pleasure.
i hope you hang around and enjoy this wonderful expensive passion.

Thanks guys for the response and Ozz there was really only one other hobby I had in mind and that was models but I am a cabinet maker right now and i can basically do my own wood work stuff so prefer that over plastic or metal models.
Welcome to the boards, a tip for someone new...when you buy a humidor, think about the size you think you need and double it. i started with a desktop, went to a 75-100 count and now have a 300-400 count foot locker all in the period of about a year.
DAMN, Im Thirsty! I want a beer, how bout you? You want a beer?

Welcome Rlang. I am relatively new here, but have followed the forums for a while.
As Sheri said, it can be an expensive hobby, but if you learn to shop around, it can be reasonable. I look at it this way, compared to the people I know with the 6 or 8 latte a week habits, a few cigars a week is no more expensive, and lots better for my waistline!
Again, welcome. And you shouldn't have said anything about being a cabinetmaker. You might have a lot of new friends looking for custom humidors! lol

Welcome aboard. CA is an informative, interesting and entertaining forum; I think you'll enjoy it here.
As far as "expensive" goes -- like many pleasures in life it can be as expensive as you want to make it. There are lots of high end products and accessories to buy no doubt. But a cigar doesn't have to be expensive to be good and there are lots of innovative and inexpensive storage choices over spending hundreds on your first humidor.
Search and ask and you'll learn lots to get you started. Enjoy!

Welcome - I'm relatively new myself and figured this would be a good hobby as well, I quickly had to upgrade my humidor to a 500 count after I filled my desktop within a week. I told my wife I was going to choose between 3 hobbies and I would be so kind as to give her a small vote. The choices were strippers, vintage sports cars or cigars. So here I am
