this is my first post here and i was just wondering if any one has imported cigars into canada and paid the duties and if so how much? any info would be apreciated, thanks
Hey p2. You're looking at this formula. US$ cost plus shipping in US$ plus the exchange rate, then the whopping duty rate of up to 65 %. Benn there. Done that. It hurts but 10 times out of 10 you're still saving. Some US retailers will ship plain ground mail and depending on the value of the cigars, they come straight through without extra charges. Avoid having them shipped by courier. They charge extra handling fees. That's my experience.Rick in Oakville,Canada
